Steelheart Rocks... there is a vocalist Girish P. band "Girish and the Chronicles" who does a great vocal and the band is awesome doing originals of rock & metal since 2009
Classic Rocker formula: Handsome frontman hitting killer high notes + awesome lead guitarist hiding behind a jungle of perm hair. Just kidding. Mili is a magnificent vocalist! Legendary pipes!
He wasn't just hit in the head. A whole truss of lights fell on him! It broke his nose, jaw and damaged his spine!!! And it took a long time and he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury! I'm so glad that he is touring again. Thanks for looking at this video.
Milli can still hit those amazing notes! I saw Steelheart a month ago and they were phenomenal! My favorite version of this song is the acoustic version in Tokyo, I believe.
I’m 23, and I used to walk around talking about how awesome steelheart is (was) and none of my friends understood, so I got to introduce them into this incredible part of music. Steelheart, Warrant, Firehouse, Skid Row, Mr. Big, etc all came about at the tip-end of hair metal, but all of them had absurdly good vocals. It’s a shame their notoriety was short-lived, but thank goodness for the Internet showing us their talent.
I love Milijenko’s style vocals so much and really miss this era of EPIC rock! Your cover is great too Ken! I recently had a go at this one if you're interested. Did the best I could man. I'm a bit out of shape right now and had to warm up for a half hour to get it, lol. Take care and rock on! :)
I agree he is really underrated as a vocalist. Killer voice. Glad you’re in a good mood today. It’s good to be happy in life. My daughter is nine and has such a beautiful voice but she definitely needs some vocal lessons. Have a great day Ken. I like how you’re always upbeat.
Mili is the best! Love him, I wrote on another of you’re videos about high notes I’m reaching for. This is what I was asking about. Thank you again my friend for the great videos. Just earned the sub man!
Love him! Guitar and vocals in Sticky Side Up is killer, you gotta check it out Ken! Also, he has some new stuff out last year. Check out Lips of Rain 🤟 Love you reviews!!!!!
I appreciate the poetry here -i just love an artist that sings live better than the sound track...and also Ken the notes you hit are flawless , I absolutely love your technical knowledge of music..
When I try to teach young people about milli and singing, the best description I can give to explain him, is that he was Dimash before their was a Dimash!!
He's one of my favorite rock singers. He's not only "good". He's got a god given gift, and the first time you hear him sing it's just exceptional. He's like an angel singing. He's always very emotionally invested that he could really sing these songs that, made by someone else, would have been cheesy and make them sound shivering.
First off I love that guitar intro it's awesome first of all Ken I never listened to steelheart that much man but I can say by listening to him this guy is a great rock vocalist love his singing and I love that scream he just nailed it was spot on man just awesome I need to listen him more hes great wow I like this song Ken I think he's great live the dude can sing he sounds like you Ken when you go up and scream for a note it sounds similar man but i love the electric guitar intro that's one of the things I like about rock groups is the electric guitar love this reaction Ken I'll check out your version man I bet you nail that scream note just as great I know you can awesome video dude👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I love Steelheart! was lucky enough to see them at sweden rock 2019! he was 54 years old at the time but still kicked so much ass! There are some clips on youtube from that concert, kickass intro on angel eyes! I think that songs like this will always have "faults" or "offpitch" notes, but, thats what makes it alive and organic. That he still manages to keep his cool and crack on is just marvelous. If you have heard the original song Like Never Before, there is a version on youtube where he actually goes higher then the original, wich is insane. In closing, Ken, you are great! informative, you explain it so everyone can understand and your understanding of music is enormous! Thanks!
This guy was in my hometown a little over a week ago. Unfortunately, I had to work that night but thought it was cool he's still touring. He's a little older and more clean cut, but from watching his recent vids, MM still has the vocal chops!!
This song is simply wonderful. I would really like to know which woman inspired the composer to create this melancholic suffering generated by a great loss.
Steelheart’s only real problem was they arrived on the scene a few years too late. They never got their due because styles had started to change didn’t get the AirPlay they deserved and thus are not on the radio on oldies stations today.
wheelzwheela I completely agree with you and was thinking of this yesterday while watching this video and then watched an interview from 1991, I believe, where Mille talks about how they got the record deal and so on, and what he said was that the Labels didn't want to listen to them or sign the band. By my understanding took them a few years to get something....pretty sad. This band in the 80s would've been right there with the big ones of the Glam scene.
Miljenco Matijevic is best of the best singer ever with his unique and inimitable voice and excellent technique of performance, but you also amazed me that you dared to use this song in your reading, just respect as a specialist and take off my hat. Well what can I say, excellent performance. Bravo! Be that as it may, I am touched to the depths of my soul by your pardon of this legendary song, and therefore I would like to receive the text of this song in your reading, since there is something magical and attractive in it in the singularity of the performance of sounds, but it is one thing to sing, and another to teach others to sing correctly, therefore, as a teacher, this is from God for you, therefore, let us be grateful that we were born neither by plants nor by animals, but by human nature itself!
Mili isn't human! My question to you Ken: Your range is still amazing! Why do so many singers lose their range over time when some never did drugs, smoked or drank?
Hello Ken🙌I love my life, come back...She ´s Gone🥰I’m like your reaction🎶I’m listening 4 différents versions Vocalists STEELHEART for this song: here Milijenko?... Matijevic, and 2 under(Name?) difficult choices 😂but great🤩Bye, Ken!! I’m believing that you will be « Europe » Song, Joey Tempest🤓Thank you so much, it’s ALRIGHT!! ALRIGHT, bye🙌
I’ve seen the unplugged version of this and it’s amazing how he’s able to slide from his chest voice all the way up into his mixed voice so easy and effortlessly. Now I know he’s not using falsetto because I know that falsetto sounds fluty and has a lack of power and anyone can sing in falsetto. But just one question, does this guy have a naturally high voice or did he train for years.
....I don't remember, have you done a now and then with Mili? Great video as always. What a singer he was, amazing live and YES bands of this era definitely MADE music awesome, not just cut and paste. 👍🙏
First off, ( if he even is still among the living, there one thing you can say about his voice, and that is that its just as good now, as it was back then, ( not everyone can keep their voice as good as he can, because I've heard some have almost lost their voices because of, well, the stress, vocal stress I mean ).
Yes! I was looking for this the other day on your channel. Mike is one of my all time favorite singers, and it's sad that's he is not more famous. Best voice in rock imo. Request for reaction. Just type in Miljenko Matijevic screams :P
Can trust me I know who rob rock is also I love you yourself in Shout and your solo records but this guy here I didn't hear very many hard rock metal singers with a voice like his I want to get my voice back I have a four active range with healthy bass and borderline soprano
Hi Ken! According to Wikipedia you actually co-wrote the song "I Confess" with Gene Simmons for the Kiss album "Carnival Of Souls". How did that happen? How did you know Gene? How much of the song did you write? What was writing a song with him like? Did you play or sing anything on the record? Love you!
I was first introduced to Gene Simmons by the head of A&R at A&M records. Gene was looking to sign a band I was doing with Scott Van Zen called Mystery Train. At that point both myself and Scott wrote quite a few songs at Gene’s request to submit songs for forthcoming Kiss records. Gene's participation was basically “arranging” the songs while we wrote and submitted them. You can hear several more of these tracks on Gene Simmons “The Vault“ where I have several tracks from this era.
The person putting together the melody of this song is be just I don't know how to describe correctly but I use the word awesome. The melody is very addictive and powerful.
