The fun part in this video is they do the complete oppisite of each others. Leo takes songs that's not metal and makes them metal. Mary on the other hands takes metal song (and other style's) and makes them none metal (and other style's). So this is what is showen in this video "Battle of style" each are perfoming the same song in each there style :)
Leo is amazing, he can take almost any song put his spin on it and have it come out amazing. Mary Spender is also an incredible artist. I follow both of them on RU-vid. 🤠🎸🤘
Yeah, and I don't think non-musicians grasp exactly how hard it is to take a song and completely genre-bend it and still have it work. Being able to do that is a testament to how good Leo really is.
i would definitely back up those who ask for Leo Moracchioli's Cover of Toto's Africa. Also great is his Cover of "Dance Monkey", in which he is backed up by Hannah and Rabbea as he is in "Africa". :)
Leo is an incredible artist. I have been his fan for years. His vocal range, as well as range of song choice to cover, is incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone. He has also exposed me to many other artists that are definitely worth checking out!!!!!
When you want another fun one I vote for Leo and Hannah for the Toto Africa cover but you have to do it seeing it for the first time. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MH9FyLsfDzw.html
What you have to understand is, Leo is ridiculously talented, plays all of the instruments in his songs, sings, collaborates with a bunch of people...and he's a little nuts. I'm always amazed at his talent, but find myself laughing at his antics in every single video. It's a rabbit hole worth getting lost in for sure.
Speaking of rabbit, his metal cover of Feel Good Inc. Where he's in a rabbit costume at some public area, just walking through while people look at him like he's crazy (understandably), is one of my favorite covers of Leo's.
I came across leap frog randomly 3-4 years ago and just love this group and all their music. They are both very talented and make a great combo. So glad you did one of their videos
Mary's opening riff on the banjo is great. Glad they highlighted it. This is my favourite version of this song. Mary has the same cool reporter tone as Mark Knopfler at the start, Leo puts on the metal face when he's barely growling LOL, then they both get warmer. Just so cool.
Yeah, me too. She does some good vids. This cover was the first time I saw her...🤔 ...now that I think about it. I found this a few years ago ...oh, probably searching for Sultans of Swing footage...✌😁
I love Leo so much, he loves what he does so much, and it shines through all of his music. I'm not a fan of metal, but I can't get enough of Leo's arrangements and performances. Also, +1 to the "Africa" vote. ^_^
Oh! I remember this from a couple years back...the Dire Straits original is one of my favorite songs. ...from one of my favorite bands...this is a fun cover of it, I've seen some of his covers, and I catch Mary Spender's vids sometimes. Have fun. ...your ponytail swinging was AWESOME!!! 🤘😁. Yes, we love taking you into the Metal experience. Thanks for coming along! ✌
As a musician for over 30 years, I really appreciate that you caught the vocal doubling. I've seen several reaction videos for this song, and you are the first to mention it! Good job!
I thumbed this one just because you reacted to one of the best duo's on RU-vid. Leo and his wife absolutely kill it both in the studio and in their live performances. I just wish they would come to the USA!!!
Tara, thanks for this! IRL, Mary and Leo are two of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. And _both_ of them, individually, have _oodles_ of fans. Leo is the metal guy. Mary, on the other hand, is really a jazz/folk/pop singer. So, she was out of her element here. But, she admires the heck out of Leo. So, she gave it her all. She's really a guitarist first, a songwriter second, and a singer third. I hope you give her another listen, but this time on her own. Or, alternatively, you could also get a good sense of her voice in one of her duets with another fave of mine, Reina del Cid, a young lady formerly out of Minneapolis, now out of LA. An example of that is their cover of Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream" at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sj2gSmZqjSU.html. She also has one of the loveliest duets I've ever heard with another RU-vid wonder, Josh Turner. It's their cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hey That's No Way to Say Goodbye" at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2JLTfRQ0ikk.html. You can't go wrong either way. I hope you give them a try! Your fan, JT
Always Morissette ... Im fed up of her. Its entertaining for viewers to see her reacting to different artist from different country. Its enough for Morissete .Give some for other artists out there
Leo is both a mad man and a master of music. He does everything himself in the production of these videos in his home studio. He can turn any song into a heavy metal masterpiece. Very talented in so many fields. And lets not leave out all the comical theatrics. And Mary is a wonderful musician herself. Everybody should go look at Leo's extensive library of covers.
I only came across Leo early this year (I'm not into metal normally) and his covers /productions are an interesting addition to this old fella's music appreciation. Your other comments below are right about his other notable efforts and I'd add that his cover of 'Jolene' is another one that makes you smile :)
After listening to the studio version of the original by Mariah Carey, she copy almost everything note for note. The only differences are that she was using head voice when Mariah was using falsetto, and she didn't do a couple of the more complicated runs that Mariah did. Still, it's not easy to do Mariah Carey even as a copy, so she still did great.
Leo is a musical genius. With almost 4 million subs he's very popular as well. I'm 65 and have played drums for 58 years. The mastery he shows on multiple instruments is second to none
could you maybe react to a cover by haloscene, lauren Babic, First to Eleven and violet Orlandi/bohamian rhapsody? Its a really good one and i would love to hear your opinion to that :D
Glad you enjoyed Leo, With 3.9 Million Subs, With near 26 Million views of This video, With 330 Thousand thumbs up and over 18 thousand comments.. He is a legend. Just say'n.
1st time checking out your channel..Bravo... I'm an audio engineer (retired) like you a fan of all music and have mixed it all..lol but I've been a big fan of Leo and his cover vids ..not so much live , but that's not his fault..he turned me on to Mary who is pretty awesome in her own rite.. when I saw the title for your vid, I was prepared for a destination session..lol.. but I was happily relieved when your Ponytail started Banging...lol, I've perfect pitch since a child, and can play multiple instruments, use to sing ..not so much anymore...but I hear every little nuance of sound.. he is tremendous with his covers especially with the degree of humor.. ie. the eys, etc.. check out his array of work at his site, and I will now add you to my collection to go to sites, rock on Tara...
Cray cray and smooooth. Mary’s voice is beautiful, Leo amazes, very talented. "It's a good pairing." Yes. Both bring much to this performance. It is a good pairing. I keep coming back to your reaction of this because it is good and at the same time funny. Not enough funny in the world. Thanks very much, Tara.
Hey Tara thanks for doing this.. LEo and Mary are SUPERRRRR .. now you know them and you know it ... thank you again .. and .. you're very very good... you picked up the technicalities behind the song introduced with the recording studio and equipment .. not only a reaction to the song but a little analysis here.. well done Miss..
Tara, don't know who you are or where you're from but Leo is a sparkle in the darkness that is metal. I'm back on the Leo track after last 2 years of moving and settling down. You gave good advice and critique and thank for that. Spread love, not germs. Your ponytail roll was excellent. 👍💚🪶
I really enjoy Leo's work as a master multi instrument talent and his wacky creativity. What I am surprised is that you really did not comment on Mary Spender's voice. Mary has such a clean and pure tone. She can really hold a note and gently roll off at the end of it. I hope that you check out more of Mary's work to get a better perspective of her vocal control.
I have one of those square coffee cups. Never got the hang of it. After needing a clean shirt more than a few times I pushed it to the back of the cabinet.
