It’s so wild to me how people are surprised by his vocals after hearing him in BTS songs lol. I remember hearing The Truth Untold for the first time and being absolutely blown away by his voice. His solos are incredible! Another gem is his duet with Taehyung “It’s Definitely You.” Their voices complement each other soooo well.

Jin has so many amazing solo songs you could check out that show all his beautiful vocals!! Awake, tonight, epiphany. He's an amazing vocalist and his live vocals are even more heavenly. (He actually wrote the astronaut together with Coldplay as a little goodbye gift for army before he enlists in the military, please check out the live performance he did of the song. It's absolutely gorgeous)

Also Jin has plenty of solo songs! Moon, Abyss, Tonight, Yours, Epiphany, Awake! Honorable mention: It's Definitely You with V which is one of my faves

It’s Jin’s debut, but it’s certainly not his first song, those “vocal chops” go so high…! I swear songs like Epiphany or Crystal Snow would blow you out of the water Tristan 😭 He’s known for being the powerhouse vocalist in BTS, in fact he stands out a lot because in the lyrics he DOES get, it’s usually high notes. And my man doesn’t go into falsetto, he straight up belts. 💜

Agree that their poppier songs tend to use more auto tune but if you listen to their ballads, vocal line songs, or even Jin’s solos in BTS’s discography, you’ll realize that, no, they haven’t been holding Jin back. We’ve always known he was a whole vocal powerhouse with amazing range.

jin said he sang with more of an old Korean style in this song! It’s so gorgeous and one of my favorite aspects of the track. I’m glad you mentioned the crooner thing because I’ve alwaysss thought that about him but I haven’t seen many people point it out!! He has such a beautiful lower range and I’m beyond happy we got to hear it, since he’s usually one to sing high notes 😭💕 he’s known as the belter of bts! And Jin definitely has more solos!! All the members do. They always have the freedom to do whatever they want which is why I wouldn’t say jin was held back at all from anything HE wanted to do. I'm not sure, but I think Jin might have the widest vocal range in bts. He hits some insane mixed notes in crystal snow and pretty good lows in Dionysus. Epiphany and awake are some songs where he's belting like a champ. Edit actually nvm the lows in dionysus, he goes lower in other songs, it's just a darker vowel there.

To paraphrase Jungkook 'Jin has the widest vocal range in BTS'. And quote Namjoon 'Seokjin is our secret weapon'. It's such a shame that he's been so underrated for so long and it's only now, that's he's about to enlist, that he's able to do his song and all the variety shows. He's so versatile and humble and I'm going to miss him. At least we have all the other solo projects to look forward too!

Before they all went solo this year, they all already had solo songs on their BTS albums in the past. Jin has multiple solo songs that you should react to like awake, epiphany and moon. Some new army’s probably don’t know about all their old solo songs and even RM, J-hope and Suga already had solo albums and EP’s.

This was a Coldplay song that Chris gifted to Jin :) it’s all their melody and Chris is throughout the background . Jin did the Korean lyrics !! I was very surprised by your comments about Jin and how he is not appreciated enough for his vocals in BTS. I guess you have looked at BTS from a very small bubble and haven't really heard their album tracks. I guess most of their singles are faster songs and Jin really shines on their mellower RnB and ballade tracks. Also BTS are outstanding live. I don't even know the number anymore but they have dozens of live concert DVDs and concert livestreams. You should really check out "Epiphany" "Moon" and "Awake" which were Jins solo tracks released under BTS. BTS vocal line songs are absolutely amazing "The Truth Untold" "Butterfly Prologue Mix" "House Of Cards Full length" "00:00 Zero o'Clock" Also their groups songs like "134340" "Don't Leave Me" "Crystal Snow" "Film Out" "Let Go" "Dream Glow" "Answer Love Myself" "Dyonisus" are great examples of his vocal range. (btw there are a lot more, I just cannot list all of them. BTS has over 200 songs lmao) Jin is the most stable live and really shines at their live shows. He has the nickname "Silver Voice" and he is the only member who has recieved actual applause and standing ovations at BTS stadium concerts from ARMY after he performed "Epiphany"

Actually, a vocal coach has said that Jin is a countertenor, but yes, he has the widest range in the Group. He gets assigned to sing the low register with V, the Baritone, but he sings higher than Jimin, the natural Tenor. Maybe that was "why" he got the fewest lines to sing for 9 yrs, so as not to overshadow the other 3, incl the Main & Lead Vocalists? First, the in-house head producer, then later, post-Love Yourself albums, the Group did the "line distribution" for each member. For Jin to get the fewest lines still remains a mystery till now! Yet, Jin is BTS' Silver Voice (a Grammy Panel title for him), their only belter with the widest range, AND with the best emotional resonance due to his acting background? All this you have in this new MV, the perfect mixture of his artistic skills being showcased: singing AND acting! Around Middle of this year Jin contacted Chris Martin of Coldplay(they are great friends!!!) and said he wanted to give a song to the fans before he leaves for the mandatory military service for 18 months .. so Chris sent a track and Jin wrote the Korean verses and they made this song together...They also performed it live in Coldplay's concert in Argentina Also Jin's vocals are greatly shown in his album solos like epiphany, awake ..the live of those are amazing

Dude, you've been sleeping on Jin! The "weakest vocalist" was never the narrative (early on it was his dancing that received criticism, not his voice). He is known as an emotive ballad singer with the ability to belt out high notes live and with relative ease. With the exception of "Moon" and "Super Tuna" you will need a full box of Kleenex- Awake, Abyss, Tonight, Epiphany- get used to his sound and you can pick it out of choruses and backgrounds.

As an OT7 (all members of bts are my bias), I think kpop groups can be overwhelming in the sense that it's full of so many talented people, sometimes people's talents and uniqueness can get lost in it all but so glad people who HAVEN'T ALREADY seen what Jin really had to offer see it in this song, so proud of all of them 💜 PS definitely check out his other solo music, I think anyone whose never heard Jin's other stuff is extra surprised at this

he is my bias . i knew that he's got the best voice since the begining . Ive really come to appreciate the members when they sing together after hearing their solos because they all add something different to their songs. You should listen to more of their solos!

Probably won't be saying anything other army having already mentioned but Jin definitely brought it all to this song, the love you hear him singing into that hook is 100% for army. He definitely isn't hidden in BTS or autotuned but if you're only hearing their newer singles I can understand why you may have missed him shining individually in the songs. If you get a chance try listening to the demo released on the album Proof which has one of his most amazing songs that is unreal, called Ephiphany. The lyrics are nonsensical in the demo but the vocal is to die for.

Jin and Coldplay are the perfect combo. And I agree, Jin's personal style/solo tracks are different than BTS' overall vibe, so this displays that much better!

when I first listened to this song, I thought it was GORGEOUS. Jin is INCREDIBLY talented with a very unique voice. I love him so much AND he is world wide handsome. He has no flaws.

Jin voice is so beautiful in The Astronaut , his lower register is warm and inviting. The whole song from start to finish is amazing, a soothing love letter and reassurance to us that he will only be away temporarily and he have been with us for so long and now we are strong to survive without him momentary. The song have just the right tinged of nostalgia and melancholy, and Jin shine the bright while singing too. Jin is well known in ARMY as Our Ballad King. He really has a beautiful voice and next to Jungkook, he is so stable live. I think Jin was kind of left by the wayside as far as vocal lines because he had ZERO background in the singing and had to learn it all from scratch. So he was less focused on. BUT BOY HAS HE BLOSSOMED! He has been called Silver Voice by critics in the industry and he absolutely lives up to it. There are a lot of times when background vocals by Jin are thought to be another member. The boy can Belt!

You need to go listen to his solo songs like epiphany, awake, yours and abyss asap. He is literally the king of high notes and falsetto. Usually he singles higher but this song is one of the few exceptions were he used his lower register more. He also said he tried singing like trot singers do for this song and that's why you felt his voice different.

The story of this MV is that Jin is an astronaut from outer world, and while traveling through the universe landed on Earth due to a broken spaceship. He was living on Earth waiting for his spaceship to be fixed so he can return to space. In the meantime he meets and creates a valuable relationship with the little girl (Army), who teaches him things, and in return, he helps Army to ride her bike (and be on her own). When his people finally come to get him on Earth, he excitedly runs and bicycles to the spaceship. Then, he realizes at the end that instead of returning to space, he wants to stay on Earth to be with his Army, that is now his family and home.💜 ...I'M NOT CRYING YOU ARE 😭 Chris Martin said that Jin asked him for a song for his fans and to say goodbye for a little while, to say that he love us..🥺 Jin and Christ wrote the lyrics and honestly, everything about this song is just so beautiful and emotional. This song has made cry almost the whole fandom. 😭 JIN WE ARE GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH BUT ARMY WILL WAIT! 💜 Anyways, you will be surprised to find out Jin's vocal range. You definitely need to react to more of his other solo songs and specially live performances bc this man is the most stable and always so powerful! (I recommend you 'Epiphany' live!) You might've not seen too much content but Jin has had a lot of great parts, verses and high notes especially these last few years. I think Jimin said he was the one with the most range too ! He was killing the dynamite and ptd lives, his vocals on run bts are incredible. And he's stellar on the japanese songs He did do that song fully his in a range he doesn't often use which is great ! We've all been saying that he should be belting on some rock songs for a while lol, you should react to his live for this song at coldplay's concert, he asked them for a song for a special reason and they wrote it together
