Liam was always doing some crazy acrobatics with his voice in live 1D performances. His gift is great pitch control and range, he can blend and match any of the guys vocals, even if they change a note mid-singing. Because of that, he sang the most harmonies and backing, along with his solos. When you can blend your voice so well with others it’s a skill, but it also means that people either don’t recognise your voice on its own or they just take it for granted. But I love Liam’s voice more than anyone on the music scene right now. The beautiful soft falsetto on his highs and the velvety stylistic restraint on his mid to lower range are heavenly.
He's got amazing skills. You are right, he usually either stays on the lows or goes full-on falsetto. Only now on his solo songs, he is exploring more of his voice. Guess he's a lyrical-baritone with a very rich texture.
He's almost like the definition of a lyric baritone hah His voice is low, he feels the most comfortable down there but at the same time his timbre is very bright, very warm and very satisfying to the ear, almost like a tenor.
I could listen to Liam sing all day!! Hands down the best voice out of all of the boys. And 100% agree with your analysis on Liam and Zayn's voices flowing so beautifully together. If they ever wanted to comeback as a duo I would be totally down for it 🤞
Yes he had the most experience with singing when they were on x-factor so he was given most parts on x-factor nd their 1st album too he nd harry were lead
He used to belt only till g#4 nd above that falsetto as zayn nd harry were always given belts but in his recent songs his mix has extended to Bb4 nd he has a very low bass baritone voice he can project very well down to d2 which this compilations never shows but now he's improved his mix nd can belt nicely
One Direction members were born between 1991-1994 and Torn was released in 1997 so they were already a little kids back then :D Probably the childhood nostalgia made them sing it on the X Factor. Also he sounds a bit lighter in More Than This because it's the studio version, not the live one hah
"Torn" is a song written by Scott Cutler, Anne Preven and Phil Thornalley in 1993. It was first recorded that year in Danish (renamed "Brændt", Danish for "Burned") by singer Lis Sørensen, then two years later by Cutler and Preven's American alternative rock band Ednaswap, and in 1996 by American-Norwegian singer Trine Rein.
If you have time you should check out their best harmonies compilation then you can see where each boy was placed vocally plus it’s really good. Also they would read tweets from fans and they would ask them to sing certain songs like blurred lines or Micheal Jackson so those things weren’t rehearsed they also did fresh prince of bel air quit often lol
Liam was the second with the best voice in the band, just behind Zayn. Louis always bright with his voice but now with the Indie and Alternative Rock is obviously better because is the genre for him.
Hey Adam. I’m an aspiring singer from Israel. I would love a lesson with you or just your take on how I can improve. I have so much respect for what you did with your voice.
Liam is an absolute versatile vocalist. He has one of the most smootest falsetto of this generation & can reach deep down to d2 .His pitch control is to die for..Always eager to listen him ❤
I have no idea if you will even see this but if you get a chance, check out his original X factor audition and any (or all) of the X factor performances. Granted they were all young but if you heard his original audition I think you would be surprised that his later songs in one direction all swayed so far into the falsetto. Because as seen in the comments, his range really is amazing. And his tone is very rich. Just take a look online at all of their original auditions. I think you will be shocked. :) :)
I have never seen one of your videos or you but you look super familiar. Like your eyes. I swear i have seen them before. Maybe you look like a celebrity but i can't put my finger on who it is.
Well loved your reaction.I love one direction and really want them to come together again but i am not so sure. because Zayn has some really serious anxiety and depression issues. And the music one direction was making he was really not interested in that genre and he was not able to give much input while making music. i think that it was not boys fault i blame production for this issue that they knew if a member is interested in other genre than they should have at least allowed them to have one song like that. As a result he got some really serious anxiety issues. Zayn still is not able to perform live because of health.
Hello Adam, I recommend you to watch Björk's live rendition of "So Broken", such a powerful and moving performance : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zBSbZ06uxa8.html
