The soloist for “Whole new World” is Drew Ochoa. A few years ago his barbershop quartet, After Hours, won the International convention gold medal. A very accomplished singer in his own right and fits perfectly well with Voctave.
If you want another example of Drew's excellence, check out his quartet's performance of "Take On Me" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kmAYpZsYT8U.htmlsi=rp_RAC03YLh7zzF4 You're going to love love love his upper range!
Being an a capella fan for years with Pentatonix and Home Free being my all time favorite groups I still have to say, Voctave is on a whole other level with their arrangements. They are truly masterful and I have to say I have not heard anyone coming even close to the magic they create.
THANK YOU, TARA for bringing back your reactions to Voctave. Drew is singing Aladdin and he is wonderful (see him in their “Remember Me” video). Oh, on their tour they told us that Chrystal does the costuming choices, since you mentioned. As my students in music say, "Any Day with Voctave is a Good Day."
I say the same thing about Drew, he smiles with his eyes. It's so beautiful, inviting, and endearing. What a gift. I definitely recommend reacting to Somewhere that they just released as well. Pure perfection.
This has to be their best Disney song so far and that note EJ holds at the end is incredible. That man has lungs of steel! And the guy who did Aladdin is Drew
Every single one of them has a magnificent voice but it is sooo magical when they combine. I shall be forever grateful to you Tara for introducing me to them a few years back.
I believe that their great diction comes from so many of them having sung in Voices of Liberty at Epcot Center. That's a hallmark of vocal groups who sing at Disney parks.
EJ can get right the heck outta town on this one! 😂 But the standout of this one for me is Drew. The warmth from his voice and face make me wanna step onto that flying carpet.❤
I'm so excited! I received word yesterday that their new Christmas album just shipped. We're also going to see them in concert in Dayton Dec. 7th. This is going to be a very merry Christmas!
Have soooo missed your Voctave reactions. So many awesome ones to do. Their covid induced version of You Will Be Found ( Dear Evan Hansen) with a huuuuuuuuge supporting cast is wonderful and West Side Story's Somewhere will give you chills and tears!! Do your thing pretty lady . ( and some salsa on the side)
Yep. Voctave does it again. I really love your Voctave reactions - PLEASE, don't wait so long to do more! As we are in the Christmas season please do some Voctave Christmas reactions. I'd like to recommend "Where Are You, Christmas?" featuring, Ashley Espinoza and her son Gael - it's absolutely stunning (make sure you have some tissues).
Tara, I've always enjoyed your reactions, and this is no exception. I know this comes a little late (like 5 months), but I would really love for you to react to Voctave's cover of "Somewhere" which features each and every one of the members. And if you'd like a little more Broadway, check out their cover of "Goodnight My Someone", a Kate Lott solo. And finally, I recommend you listen to their "Disney Lullabies"... you will not be disappointed. I look forward to many more of your reactions!!!
I got to meet Drew (singing A Whole New World here) and Aaron (singing Kill the Beast) at Walt Disney World last week. They are part of the Voices of Liberty who sing in the American Pavilion at Epcot. Super nice guys. We talked for a bit and got a pic with them!
Welcome back Tara! You've got lots of new Pentatonix to catch up on, inc!using solos from Mitch (under the name Messer) and Scott, including a song he wrote for his new husband!
Have been a subscriber for a quite some time. Love your channel. Don't forget about Voctave in December. You got to check out "Where Are You, Christmas." Bring a tissue.
Okay so a few things. Tara, your facial reaction on the first video, WAS ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! WERE YOU HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION? WHEN THAT MAN CARL HIT THAT LAST LOW NOTE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO CALL 911 FOR YOU.😂😂😂😂 THEN LATER ON, YOU WERE SO EXCITED THAT YOU GAVE THE STANK FACE NOT ONCE BUT TWICE! STANK IT UP TARA!😂😂😂😂 Anyway this was nice video. Thanks for sharing I love you so much! Amen!❤️😊🤗😘😘😘😘😘
I would imagine that you could probably break just this song down in a three credit continuing education masterclass...so much to talk about, so little time.
Tara: I love how well dressed they always are. Never scruffy... Me: now I WANT her seeing their Disney 90s TV Medley. Them dressing up as 90s teens there. I admit it's a one time only departure of dress code so far. ^^
Where are you christmas is so good Ashley is amazing plus i would love your opinion on the little boys vocals i think he's about 3 yrs old? I love your reactions
I love the major a cappella groups (the 'big three'), but Voctave SOUNDS better than any group I've heard. Ever. Between the superhuman arrangements by Jamey, and the superhuman voices they ALL have... this group is just stunning. They epitomize the term "wall of sound."
Dear Ms Simon, Your listening skills are supreme. I would love to hear your reaction to “Tuyo y Mio” (acoustic version 2023) by Camilo y Los Dos Carnales. Camilo’s voice is so different from Los Dos Carnales but to me they sound so great together, and it’s a beautiful song. Thank you for considering!
Tara! If you haven't heard of Samara Joy, I can't recommend her enough. Jazz singer at only 23 years old with multiple Grammys. Her voice is incredible
