For those curious about Jin and JHope's special elite warrior class, here are what they passed 1. Shooting - 90% hit rate 18/20 rounds 2. Basic strength -72 push ups in 2min, 86 sit-ups in 2min, 3km run in 12m30s 3. Combat strength - 10km rapid march in 25kg fullgear in 2h10m, 5km run in 15kg noncombat gear in 40min 4. Additional training - 10 leg tucks, intensive fitness circuit in 2m15s, 240m sprint in 1 m2s 5. Mental strength - 90/100 ARMYs test your skills 😂😂😂

71 year old Army here. You guys have become my absolute favorite reactors, and having Taylor on was fantastic! She is a gem and such a loyal Army. I love that about her. I am not familiar with Brigette sp?, but she was excellent too. Jungkook will also be performing "Seven" at the MTV European Awards show in Paris since it is nominated for Best Song and Best Kpop. Even though Seven is not Kpop and is a totally made in America pop song. I can't remember if Taylor mentioned that JK won "Song of Summer" on the MTV VMAs for "Seven". There is so many awards and stuff for her to keep track of. Thank you! 💜

35:00 - Suchwita is one of my favorite BTS content. It's so good, Suga is such an excellent host, with his ability to make his guests feel at ease and draw out their stories. As Taylor has said, he created the show partly to provide his members a safe space to promote their solo albums. But it's also a massive gift for ARMY. In a period of time where we often see them appear solo in performances and promotion, we get to see them interact on Suchwita for an extended period of time. They not only talk about their album, but also reminisce about old times and talk about their future as BTS. And it's so much fun to see the different dynamics between Suga and each of the members. A doting older brother to JK who's endeared and proud of whatever JK does, a bickering partner with Jimin in between more serious talks, how he's so gentle with V who was nervous being the last member on the show. It was a conversation between two musical geniuses with RM, between two close friends with J-hope, and between former roommates with Jin.

The first & orig line up (rappers w/ RM) left the company to pursue different path. Only RM & Supreme Boi (former BTS producer) stayed. After Suga & Jhope came, Bang PD decided to debut BTS as idols not hiphop group, that’s where the vocalists came in. Being together really for them is fate.

regarding your question on how the members were chosen: BTS was initially supposed to be a hip-hop group. which is one reason why they're so different from classic K-pop or boybands. bang pd decided to create a hip-hop group after hearing of rm, who was then a locally famous underground rapper. so he gathered other rappers from the underground scene (including Suga) but after a while he changed his mind and it wasn't supposed to be a pure hip-hop group anymore so many of the rappers left, others weren't signed after all cause they didn't fit. there's a great series on pre debut BTS on Reddit with all the receipts and sources that still exist...

I swear the good ones of us army don’t bite that badly 😭. I’m so happy you got Taylor and Brigitte and you got the quick break down of chapter 2 because most people don’t get that after the guide. It’s amazing that you guys really want to learn about about why we’re all here and stay here! About them all being humble I think about hobi’s line in Born Singer which is something like, and correct me like I’m wrong, “I want to become someone who doesn’t embarrass myself of yesterday.” I know that’s not the exact wording but that, in my mind at least, lays it out pretty nicely. 💜💜💜

You talked about how BTS managed to stay humble despite their superstardom. I think this is because they talk a lot among themselves about how they want to conduct themselves as artists. And they're each genuinely good people so they help each other to stay grounded. It seems like they're on the same page about a lot of things. Here's a snippet of the conversation from Suchwita between Suga and Taeyang. Taeyang is a member of Big Bang, a major K-pop group that BTS look up to, and who had a collab with Jimin called "Vibe". =============== SG: I can tell that you're a musician who is grounded in reality. Because sometimes, if your songs are heard all over the country you lose touch with reality. TY: You lose it. SG: There are moments when you lose it. But my team tries so hard to hold on to that sense of reality. We always say we want to be realistic. What we have isn't all ours. It'll disappear one day. We talk a lot about being normal and well-centered. TY: That's what surprised me the most. I've met Jimin and RM, and now you, and you all consistently talk about this. So I learned a lot from that. Thinking like that in your position isn't as easy as you think. SG: Yeah. TY: We're not that big of a deal. We just need to work hard and be good at our music. That's everything. SG: Right. TY: But at a certain point, you forget that. Circumstances arise that make you forget. But living a normal life as much as possible, feeling thankful for the little things, and maintaining good relationships with the people around you. In my opinion, those things are the most important.

Richard, even though the livestream did not work out as smoothly as you had hoped, it's fine. It's part of the learning processes of becoming a "true" RU-vidr 😂. You and Johnny have such positive spirits, it makes even the difficult, bareable. 😂. I hope Johnny is resting up and hope he feels better soon! May I suggest that you rewatch the video guide again with Johnny (when he feels better) and recorded it so it would be much clearer and that we can actually hear your thoughts on the things you are seeing? It's ok for it not to be the initial reaction. There was so much information that Taylor has in the video that a second watch is actually needed to pick up on more of the details. (With BTS, 2nd watches actually helps because it's sometimes challenging to read subtitles and watch at the same time!) Borahae!

The ARMY girl did very well. An excellent presentation, you can see the dedication and time it took to make the presentation, there is so much about the construction of this mega group behind it, but it was a good summary. Although some nominations and awards were missing for BTS and JK and V, above all I would have liked to highlight that BTS is the type of group that receives a song made by their fandom, just for them, for their anniversary. Yes two of the members from the Wooga Squad were in Parasite. So if you ever re-watch it, 1 of the members is the son in the movie and another member plays the son's friend who goes away and bascially opens up the storyline for the family to engage with the rich family.

I already left a comment on the Live replay vid but just want to thank y’all for being probably the best and most genuine BTS reactors I’ve watched. Not only did you begin this journey already respectful of BTS, it’s clear your respect for their craft and skill AND their relationship to each other and with ARMY has already budded and grown in genuine way. Like!!! That’s all we ever try to convince haters of-that there are so many reasons why we support BTS this passionately and love their music just as much, and not just because they’re attractive guys. It’s something you can’t fully understand until you sit down and give yourself time to learn even a little bit, so the fact that y’all have given all these weeks and so much time already to learning about Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook in INDIVIDUAL DETAIL is so fucking rad. On top of that, you both are super talented and gifted (again!! Johnny’s piano skills!!!!) so your high regards, love and support for BTS means even more-that your trained ears and brains recognize the quality of their work, the hard efforts, their vocal qualities, songwriting, how disciplined they are in their crafts is really cool. On top of that, you understand the heart of them and what they do, where they came from, their humility, and that BTS + ARMY = a movement. They’re not just pop stars but they’re artists with impact who have created a global culture and community from just being great artists, and even better humans. Just wholesome. I wanted to add that V's Layover is the best-selling solo album in South Korea in recent history and was #2 best-selling album in BB200 in his debut week. #1 Download Album and Single on UK. Debut #4 on Global BB200 and #3 BB200 Excl US. Taehyung (V) is also the ambassador of tourism of Seoul, and he won the award for Best Fall Song at the TMA. Additionally, all 5 songs chartered simultaneously on Billboard.

Taehyung sold more than 2M albums breaking a record in his country as a solist, it was something that hadn't happened since 2000. He also won at TMA for Slow dancing and is the ambassador of tourism in seoul.

One correction, yoongi wasn't the one to hit the car, he said that he was hit at an intersection and drawn under the car, the next day he realized his shoulder was out of place and tried to hide it out of fear that Bighit would let him go. When he finally told them they were so understanding ofc and helped him deal with the pain via injections until he was finally able to get proper surgery on November 3rd 2020

I agree with Bridget. It's hard to pick for they are all great in their own but the way #Jimin expresses himself both in music, dance and personality would leave you mesmerized for days, if not forever.

Jungkook also perform solo at BBC on the one show and BBC Radio 1 in the live lounge in UK.

j-hope didn't just perform at MAMA and NYRE, he headlined both of those as well. And he was the first Korean artist to headline any major US Music Festival, not just Lollapalooza. Also, JITB made a lot of year-end album lists and was recently named the #2 Best kpop album of all time by Paste Magazine. It received wide, global critical acclaim.

I guess I’ve said this many times already, but thank you very much for seeing us and truly meeting us where we’re at. Richard got it exactly right! In a world where everything is exploited, the sincerity and kindness that BTS encourages is the reason ARMY exists. I can only speak for my own journey, but I used to be a really sad person. The message that BTS and ARMY carry (because one cannot exist without the other!) pushed me forward into a happier future. They make me want to work harder to be a better person, to become the happiest and kindest version of myself. It’s a group effort. *RE: Military service* As Taylor said, young men in South Korea have to enlist by their 28th birthday, and BTS by their 30th birthday. From what little I've seen, it seems that many K-pop idols enlist near their deadlines, I assume so that they can maximize any momentum they have as artists. If the age range of the members are wide, a group can be incomplete for years and years. In many cases, groups will stay active (perform and produce albums) as an incomplete group while one or two members are in the military, to maintain that momentum. For BTS, Jin had to enlist in 2022, but JK doesn't have to until 2027, based on his birthday. However, they have decided to enlist in close succession, so they can be a complete group again as soon as possible. The plan is to enlist by the end of 2023 so they can reunite in 2025. They are not active musically as a group during this time (no albums with only six or five members, for example) and instead they are active as soloists. As soon as they finish whatever project they work on as soloists, they apply to enlist. Jin enlisted after "The Astronaut" promotions, J-hope enlisted after he finished his upcoming dance documentary it seems, and Suga enlisted right after he finished his solo tour. At this time, JK is promoting his album, Jimin is promoting his documentary, V have completed his album promotion with his recent fan meeting, and RM is working on a mysterious project. An enlistment announcement can drop at any time for V and RM, and we're living in dread of that. Some of us are hoping that all four will just enlist together after JK's promotion and save us the heartache of having to send them off one by one. The first three were devastating enough.

WOW! I was able to watch the first half of the livestream (very fun and greatly appreciated!) but had to run to work, so this recording AND all the editing work you did, Richard, is SO fantastic to watch at the end of a tiring Monday -- thank you!!! I cannot express adequately how much I respect both of you for taking time to learn about these artists and ARMY. Your own humility shines through these videos, and if I ever hear of anyone I know needing lessons or guidance, Throga is at the top of my list. One note you may be interested in; SUGA actually composed a new version of Samsung's most famous ringtone -- but it's absolutely gorgeous, cinematic! (Jacob Collier had also written a version, among I think a couple other artists.) There's a fascinating interview video where SUGA discusses his process for creating it. He's influenced by film composers, and you can really hear that in his melodic solo work. THANK YOU Taylor for this absolutely fantastic update presentation, and to Brigitte for all of your beautiful contributions as well. I'm moved once again by the generosity of ARMY.

Actually when they first debuted they were considered a rap group even though they had 4 vocal line members. The group was built as a rap group not an idol group and they did go through training as a rap group. Their first 4 albums were mostly considered rap centric songs. It wasn't until they got to their album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt. 1 that they had a song called "I Need You" that they got their first win in the Korean Music Show Market. All their albums are born of 7 fictional charcters that parellel each of the members and many people think the story arc begins with "I Need You" but the story line began with the first album and their rap journey was the way they expressed their personalities. While Suga was training they were poor because of BigHits being close to bankruptcy so Suga delivered food on a motorbike and while doing a delivery a car ran into him and he was stuck behind the back wheel of the car. This dislocated his shoulder and cause so much damage that at times could not raise his arm above his shoulder.

My sentence about Taylor: Taylor Marie is the biggest blessing to Army that I know of. She is probably the main reason, other than the members themselves and their music, that more and more people fall in love with BTS everyday and fall into the BTS rabbit hole. Thank you for doing the live and having Taylor and Bridget. It was great. I stayed through the live and appreciate what you tried to do, As always, Taylor is just AMAZING. One thing that I wish was more apparent is that Jung Kook wasn't 15. When he talks about that he is talking about Korean age. I also wish more people realized that it is not just Jin who didn't have singing experience. NONE of the seven had experience. Only 2 had dance experiene and 2 had rap experience, from my understanding. I think what the documentary is talking about is that J-Hope and Jin didn't even have asperations to be singers or rappers. The comment below IS NOT directed at any of the people in this video. They barely touched on the subject, but it did bring up something that has bothered me for a while now, so I decided to share those feelings. I wish Army wasn't so caught up on wanting people to have a bias and to tell everyone who that bias is. Everyone having to confess their bias bothers me. It's fine to have a bias,(I have one-sometimes you can't help it) but don't feel compelled or compel people to disclose it. It gets old and frustrating for me. I'm concerned that it empowers solo stans of whomever the person says is their bias. One member seems to be the bias of A LOT of reactors, and I can understand why. He is amazing, but his solo stans aren't . The are the absolute the worst. I've seen them be VICIOUS towards other members (one in particular), so I wish Army would stop putting so much emphasis on this. If we are OT7, then why is having and professing a bias so important. Sorry for the rant. JMO I hope people will understand I don't mean it to be negative, just something I wish people would think about. probably probably

A lot about Jungkook's album and promotion were not mentioned by Taylor. Jungkook's solo debut single Seven. Not only did it debut as #1 on Billboard Hot 100 but it made a Billboard All Kill history (#1 on Billboard Hot 100, #1Billboard 200, #1 Billboard 200 excluding the US simultaneously). He debuted on Good Morning America and also on BBC one. His first album that will be released on November 3 has more than 1 Billion streams prior to release. Seven is still charting at the top of Billboard 200 even after months of its release. 3D is also at the top of Billboard 200. He is the first Kpop soloist to top 2 singles simultaneously on the Billboard chart. He is also charting in UK charts. Jungkook made history and broke records for Seven which was only released this July 14 but on its way to achieving the fastest to reach 1billion streams. He only had 1 brand endorsement for Calvin Klein but it shook the world and his impact on sales and promotions created billions of revenue for CK.

I still enjoyed the view. Thank you. One thing to add about the Proof Anthology - Disc 1 is the lead songs from each album release from debut to present. Disc 2 has solo or subunit tracks chosen by each of the members. Disc 3 (only available with the physical version) includes 11 demos that did not make it to studio production, one of them is a shelved track. There is one new song on each of the Discs. 💜

Throga, it was too bad the 1st part of your live reaction had technical issues but this 2nd part is a great watch! I say this honestly, you guys earned my respect for being objective in all your reviews and reactions to all the BTS videos you've watched so far. It was wonderful seeing you all enjoy this great Intro to BTS Guide by Taylor and the updates for their solo projects. Appreciate Johnny still soldiering on despite feeling unwell. Hope you get well soon. Thanks so much for all your tremendous effort. Bangtan Sonyeondan was built around RM. The original idea was to create a hip hop group. In the beginning during the trainee period, there were at any given time around 20- 30 trainees. Suga and Jhope were part of that "first" batch of trainees. In their book Beyond The Story, Jhope recounts how everyone in the dorm were rapping freestyle all the time and he had to learn how to rap as fast as he could. He was the only one in those early years who had a dance background. The vocal line (Jungkook, Jin, V and Jimin) joined BigHit at different time periods and knew they were joining a hiphop group. That's why RM and Suga took it upon themselves to hold extra "hiphop classes" and mentor the rest of the team about hiphop. They even would give them playlists so they would listen to OG hiphop and learn. Due to several factors- the most pressing one being huge financial problems that BigHit encountered after a failed attempt to launch a girl group which ate up a significant part of their financial resources, they had no choice but to rethink their approach. They even had to let go of some of the trainees. BigHit decided to change the idea of a hiphop group into an idol group which would mean including hard hitting, incredibly precise dance choreography, highlight aesthetics and develop the vocal abilities of the group. This huge change in direction understandably may have caused trainees who were primarily rappers to leave. In fact, RM and Suga have been quite vocal about how upset / frustrated they were (initially) that they had to learn dance and do choreography. However, Suga did have some b-boying or breakdancing experience. They, along with members who never had any dance background or training, persevered. As you can see from the guide, Jhope and Jimin were the ones with extensive formal dance training / background. V and Jungkook could dance but it was not until they joined BigHit as trainees that they honed their dancing skills. As BigHit trainees, Jin, Jungkook and V had vocal lessons but Jimin never did. Not sure why but perhaps it may be because Jimin had the shortest training period. So much to learn about these amazing young men. I am so happy that you immediately saw the brotherhood, admiration and love between them. They're truly wonderful artists!

What a fun overview the great thing about BTS, and about ARMY 53:30 is that people aren’t judging other people. They are simply trying to be the best people they can be. All groups have members that are more extreme than others, but in general, the BTS fans are loving, compassionate, smart people across several generations. I know you were curious about integrating other artists into your programs, and I would suggest you look at some of the artist, contemporary musicians that are being listened to by the members themselves, in the case of Kim Tae-hyung, listening to the work of. Cautious Clay (Swim Home), Paulo Sanders’s (Sorry), and Procol Harem (he listens to all periods of music ) they all do. You can tell who some of their favorite artists are, because they have collaborated with them in their solo work, particularly with the rap line. Thank you for another wonderful program. Love so much your reactions 💜 we can tell the honesty and your genuine interest in our superheroes 💜 BTS has become life saver and helped a lot of people overcome so many difficulties emotionally that we are very sensitive when someone will used them to gain likes or followers. I found them when my husband and lost our newborn , in the nights when I was not able to sleep I found therun BTS in RU-vid it was just silly and funny and cute and then found their music and since then they have become part of my life and my husband and daughter are army supporters💜

they were supposed to be a rap group like D12 but because of the financial situation BH was facing, they had to change the format to an idol group for profitability. but not all original lineup members were excited about it so one by one left and they added the current vocal line to the group.

@ 17.09 it's called the BTS law cause so far they've been the only ppl able to use it. It says that any men who has won the order of cultural merit medal can postpone service for two years (the age limit is 28 yo). Bangtan are the only men who've earned this medal at their age? it's common in Korea to give it to much older ppl, they're the youngest to receive it to date so they could ask for that postponement, though not all of them are 28 yet! before they enlist (so far) they announce officially they cancel the postponement so they can be drafted normally. Also! any men can delay their postponement (with justification ofc like traveling for work and such) up to 5 times after they turn 28
