In this performance, KZ amazingly fused and incorporated several musical genres. She is amazingly creative. But her performance on Singer 2018 thar captivated most is her soulful rendition of SAY SOMETHING. It was so good that even A Great Big World, the original singer, complimented her performance. this was amazingly creative, but I feel the meaning of the song was lost in her attempts to have fun with the song. She's another talented Filipina, probably the most in some ways. Always creative in her arrangements, usually good at emoting like in Say Something. Watch her rendition of Close To You, where she impersonates a TRUMPET. She doesn't have as much range as the others, due to an accident I believe, but she makes up for it in tone, passion and creativity. I FORGOT to mention, watch her rendition of Rolling In The Deep, that's the week she beat Jessie J in this competition.
Yes, I think she was a belter before then the incident with the polyps. That's why she was extremely devastated, it's tough for singers here in the Philippines if you're not like Morissette or Katrina. Katrina doesn't even have the fame she deserves. A lot of our singers are like that. KZ thought she can't sing anymore but found about Jessie J, KZ loves her, she made her find the voice she has right now. To be creative and go beyond being a "belter".

KZ used to have higher vocal range Yazik, she almost gave up singing coz she had an operation on her throat and she lost that ability. But since she loved music so much, she decided to compensate for that loss by focusing on using her creativity-- she always uses unique arrangements for her covers, and her showmanship is really good. Plus she stays kind and humble 👌 Thats what people love about her. Also watch her X Factor Philippines audition. Thats where she was first introduced to the public and she shared her story.

She’s Filipino - KZ Tandingan (winner of X Factor Philippines). She’s from Digos City, Davao del Sur. She’s actually a voice student of mine (over one school summer 😅). She’s very unique, very talented- totally highly musical. She doesn’t have a high range, but she more than makes it up with her total musicality. Very. She was still a little girl then - going to puberty. She used to sing high belt songs (e.g. Whitney songs which are staples for singers in the Philippines) - but puberty hit, and although the she didn’t keep her high belt, she kept the gorgeous vocal tone. And because she is smart and talented, she’s able to find a niche in the sea of really talented Filipino singers. ☺️

You should check KZ Tandingan more. She is 100% Filipina. She can't belt out due to an illness causing her not to belt high notes anymore so she makes and creates new styles and techniques to be unique. She has a lot of performances which can be classified as alternative and she is very good with it and I think MissEe could learn and get inspired by her with that. KZ 'was' actually a belter. Yah, she could sing high notes before. But when she was in highschool, she had polyps that made for her impossible to sing. And now. . . now that she could sing that way-that's a miracle! She was born to sing!
