I actually really got a lot out of this. I really appreciate it. I want to improve with these short samples like this and especially the beep. Cut, what, all that good stuff. Thanks
Thanks for watching! This is just a short clip the full tutorial breaks everything down in way more detail. If that is something you are interested in, plesae head over to schoolofscratch.com which has my complete library of masterclassess and my online community. All the best! Keep cutting! - Emma
I totally agree. I often overlook Dices, but after seeing this, I realize I'm underutilizing them. Thanks for all the tutorials, QnA's, and such. You're definitely one of my favourite peps posting stuff.
Hi! Wich caps and knob do you use for your ttm 57? Coolor cap or chroma? Are they thin enough to stay in place? I would like to change my basic knob because I think the mixer too dark in the dark... Thanks for your work!
Hey, quick question DJ Shortee , I was practicing my Skratches the other day, when my needle must have broke, on my Jessie Dean Portable JDDS stylus/ needle, something like that, but yea, it broke after a nite of practice, not even a whole nite. But, is that a normal thing, or what am I doin to cause that, or what am I doin wrong possibly? Thanx...... 👍👊💪🙏😎
HELLO I HAVE A QUESTION.. I HAVE TRAKTOR Z2 AND SOME TURNTABLES AND I KNOW HOW TO SCRATCH LIVE BUT THE THING IS I WANT TO TAKE THAT SCRATCHGES AND USE THEM AS HOOK IN SOME SONGS..SO MY QUESTION IS HOW TO RECORD JUST THE SCRATHES-CUTS AND NOT THE INSTRUMENTAL WHEN I HEAR THAT FOR TIME SYNC THEM WHEN THE HOOK PART OF THE SONG ARRIVES.....(MY CAPITALS IS BECAUSE I CANT SEE IN SMALL LETTERS) THANXS
HI, I'LL DO MY BEST TO SUMMARISE THE WAY I DO IT: YOU NEED TO HAVE SOME KIND OF MULTITRACK DAW SOFTWARE LIKE LOGIC AND USUALLY A SOUNDCARD OF SOME KIND SUCH AS A FOCUSRITE SCARLETT. PUT THE INSTRUMENTAL ON ONE TRACK IN YOUR DAW AND THEN RECORD JUST THE SCRATCHES VIA A LINE OUT OF YOUR MIXER TO A NEW TRACK. THE SOUNDCARD LETS YOU HEAR THE INSTRUMENTAL AND THE CUTS AND HAVE THEM ISOLATED FROM EACH OTHER WHEN YOU RECORD.
@@studioscratches HELLO AGAIN...I ACTUALLY HAVE THE SCARLET 2I2 WITH REAPER AS MY MAIN DAW (ALSO GOT CUBASE AND BANDLAB) AND UNTILL NOW I DIDNT THOUGHT ABOUT THAT TYPE OF ROUTING...THANK YOU SIR
hamster style... i learned to hamster style because i had no idea how you actually set up the mixer in the early 90s..no youtube etc...started belt drives with a tandy mixer haha think the brand of mixer was a Realistic all i bought it for was the crossfader though
All you need is a crossfader! The off on sound is king! Thanks for sharing your story! I had a soundlab mixer and would break the faders in a day and so used the line switches for a while. Use what you have!
I don't know if it can! I sometimes DJ with one deck and use Serato to do instant doubles to help with this. Hope that helps. You can play one track internally without a turntable / vinyl etc.
If you look for a record called "super seal" by qbert / thudrumble / dirtstyle records, that is the record I am using. I think they sell digital versions too. The original sample is Run DMC.
