I’m a student of Andrew and am extremely proud to call Andrew my teacher. As a matter of fact, I don’t want his classes to end. Every single class has opened my eyes and ears and I wish for more and more, and you get more and more with each lesson. Andrew is generous in sharing useful and relevant information, he teaches critical thinking (which is an absolute necessity in becoming an efficient and strong mixer), strategy, various systems that can impact the mixing approaches, and many other items. Andrew also encourages practice which is an essential part of anyone who wants to become a better mixer, but Andrew provides us with knowledge to make this practice on point and to get the benefits from it. And to quote Andrew - knowledge is knowledge when you apply it. That’s why we have home work sessions which are very detailed in Andrew’s reviews, that also bring the benefit of engraining all what we’ve learned in his classes. I'm currently enrolled in Andrew's course. After learning many tools of the audio engineering trade from AZ, I can attest to the fact he is a sonic savant in regards to his mastery of every facet of the audio technical aspect umbrella. I've mostly worked as a mixing/mastering hobbyist for about twenty years, personally, and this is without a doubt, the most in-depth analysis and breakdown of the audio science I have witnessed. I coincidentally found you question. Make sure you know that RU-vid doesn't give notification to a youtube if there are new comments on comments. As for your question it's not easy to explain in the comments to be honest. It would take a book to explain it. On my course I have a studio setup topic with unique and unknown gems on studio setup. To answer your question I would need to mention them and it's supposed to be only for my students. So I can't share it here. I hope you understand. Anyway they are amazing monitors. I would not put Adams and Neumanns off my table to them if they were bad. Just for my system and a very specific combination I set up they are not that important.

He will explain you exactly why you would do this or that and why a equipment/plugin behaves in this or that way at the micro level, so in the future you can make your own analysis and decisions . great help ! when i was starting mixing 5 years ago it's very hard to make vocals sound good, CLA Vocals saved me during that time, but as i learned more advance methods i seldom use it anymore, but now i think i have to revisit this plugin.

Thank you Andrew! It is my go-to vst while recording vocals when i have 5-10 seconds to make vocal track "better". Just throwing it there,pushing knobs so the vocalist hears his "wet" voice right after recording process and doesnt get frustrated by hearing raw tracks. But of course i avoid using Cla Vocals during mixing, insted i use sends, dedicated plugins, adjusting settings etc. I sometimes use stereo expander part of this vst though. Hi Andrew - thanks for this! I’ve been using this plug-in as a go-to for a quick vocal mix starting point and the “face to face dry” preset works great for my voice personally. Ive always wondered what it was exactly doing behind the scenes and it I could get better results with my own vocal chain or supplementing the plug-in with any additional processing I add (or use to subtract..) Do you have any general thoughts/advice? I know it’s difficult to know without hearing my unique voice to reference, but anything would be helpful! Thanks!
Not sure what kind of advice you ask for. But it's totally a fact that for example with your own plugins emulating the same ideas you would get much better results than with this plugin (pretty outdated one and some emulations are pretty weak). Anyway you are welcome to try my course out with one free trial class. As I always say people waste thousands on equipment and software while they can spend much less on my course but get much more as a result.

wow you are right CLA never talks of this, I have use every day CLA vox and effects plug ins I seem to use the effects on vox not vox effects the vox seems to well... not cut through the mix as good? maybe this info will change that will try after your vid, good teacher thank you for your contribution to the music community
Люди гоняются за звуком известногозщвукорежиссера. Проблема в том что они его все равно не получат с помощью этого плагина. А вторая проблема в том что они так и будут гонятся, вместо того чтобы знать самому что делать в каждой ситуации.

It's pretty good in terms of ideas but with your own plugins emulating the same ideas you would get much better results than with this plugin (pretty outdated one and some emulations are pretty weak).

@@AndrewZeleno1 мне кажется и они не всегда знают :) мануалы ко многим плагинам это копипаста от других производителей :) а новые релизы от "именитых" производителей зачастую страшный мусор, тот же ssl fusion в железе, оч крутая штука, в плагинах, просто страх божий. Very scientific!!!! but what i don't get is...THIS IS AUDIO" WHY ARE WE USING OUR EYES AND NOT EARS? if we were editing video we wouldn't be using our EARS! SMH
Example: a person learn CLA techniques or this plugin. CLA boost highs everywhere. People don't even hear that his chain in fact cut highs while boost lower highs and upper mid. It's because of people don't have trained ears and most people don't hear anything properly. That's why I show mathematics behind this plugin to show what exactly it does. Pfff. I never used plugin doctor. Plus it sucks in many ways. Also measuring is 10% of this video. I showed things nobody would find by plugin doctor in this video including incorrect marking of SSL highpass filter. Rtios on Compressors. L1 limiter instead of the compressor in Wall mode. And many more. Watch the video properly.
