Welcome to the world of Queen. The lead singer is Freddie Mercury. He was and still is a legend. He sadly passed away from AIDS in 91. He's very missed ❤ Considered to be the greatest vocalist of all time. Please react to Somebody To Love LIVE from Montreal.
If you notice, it’s only the American reactors who constantly interrupt the performance. People from other countries are better educated , have better manners, are more well spoken and show more class.
@@sitbone3 Allegedly they pause the videos because they're trying to prevent theirs from being blocked for copyright infringement. But if _one_ person, like Pemi, can allow the video to play through without pausing it and not get blocked, why can't they _all?_ I've seen several times where one reactor will not pause it at all and not get blocked and another will react to the same, exact video and pause the _hell_ out of it (like, every 30 seconds, if that). _WHY?_
Hey clueless and your similar friends in this thread. Reactors normally have to pause the song, or else You Tube takes the video down for copyright infringement. But, by breaking up the song, they are able to play it.
Agreed ... to even concider vocalists in his league you need to look at guys like Luciano Pavarotti and Placidio Domingo... and even then!, they have the range and control, sure -- but they dont rock as hard as Freddy & Queen 😁
@@PemisCorner Same for me. I have a playlist rota going on for hours. There's so many songs to discover. And, depending on your age and situation in life, each time you can take away different things from different songs. There's layers upon layers of meanings and possible interpretations and guiding words when you fall on hard times. Like a Rosetta Stone of music. (At least, it's for me...) ... And, well, then there's 'Bicycle Race'... :-D
Nice to have someone listen to this masterpiece without interruptions!! I had the honor to seeing this band with Freddie Mercury live 3 times and they did not disappoint!! They are truly as amazing live as they are on their videos and albums!!!
How true you are, this is not a trick, nor technologically corrected voices, this is real talent, exceptional composition, and brilliant artistry on guitar, bass, drums, and piano, and of course vocals. Long Live Queen!!
Love watching someone find the genius that is Freddy Mercury for the very first time! Queen is Iconic and legendary. There will never be anything like this group. I'm sorry to tell you this, but it's all downhill from here! Lol. This is as good as it gets. Anything Queen did was spectacular, this was just their most memorable song. (Well, that's debatable). Listen to any of their hits, oh, and if you want to get an idea of just how big this song is, search youtube for "Crowd singing Bohemian Rhapsody at Green day concert". It will give you chills! Enjoy.
Bohemian Rhapsody was in Freddie's head before he ever put a note on paper. The recording was made on analog tapes. Digital recording and editing did not exist. The entire piece took three weeks to record, and in some sections featured 180 separate overdubs. In the end, eighth-generation tapes were used.
@@PemisCorner Brian May and Roger Taylor still tour. John Deacon retired when Freddie died. They've toured as Queen + Paul Rodgers and Queen + Adam Lambert.
Freddie Mercury’s voice was extraordinary. The power, the tone, the range... it’s astonishing. Vocal coaches for the best singers in the world have been interviewed about that voice. Musicologists have studied it, trying to figure out how on earth it could work like that. And then there’s Freddie, the man who infused that voice with his intense passion for his craft, he made magic happen. He can break your heart or lift you high. The whole band is amazing, but Freddie had a truly rare talent. Although he’s gone, his music still speaks to generation after generation. It’s timeless.
The first time is a religious experience. Seeing others go through the emotions is so much fun to see. Thank you. They also ROCK live. Check out Somebody To Love Live from Montreal 1981. (Live is better than album for that song). I’d love to see what you think.
They rocked like nobody else ever has done live. Freddie is was and will always be the greatest rock performer of all time. My greatest regret was I never got to see them live :(
Amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. after Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics.
Pemi being a British Citizen born in the mid-50s I grew up with the most amazing music, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, but in the 70s came 'prog rock' We had Genesis, Gentle Giant, and Yes. Seek out these bands as I am sure they will surprise and amaze you.
Dear Pemi, I truly enjoyed your reaction to Queen. You are not alone in how they made you feel. When you have time, listen to more Queen. They will blow your mind. Peace
Wow you absolutely appreciate all the amazing skill that went into the creation of this record. Great reaction video. In my lifetime 50 something years Im still waiting for a song to better this. But all my senses tell me its never gonna happen. BR was the pinnacle of song writing and Freddie the no1 lead vocalist ever. May you Enjoy Queen to the full.
Now you know how we felt 45 years ago when we first heard this. In fact, there was a time when I was living with a drummer I was in a band with. Every day for a year and a half we would come home from work, and before we rehearsed, we would listen to this, and to Machine Gun by Jimi Hendrix. Check out White Queen (Live version), The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, and Somebody to Love (Live in Montreal).
Queen was such a talented and diverse group, you could hear twenty songs in a row and none of them would sound the same, yet every one will be unmistakably Queen. All four members of the band were both lead and backup singers, and all four of them wrote hit singles. The bassist actually wrote three number ones on the same album ("Play The Game", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Another One Bites The Dust"). But the real star of the group was Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest singers and most compelling performers ever to live. Watch some live footage, you simply won't believe it.
Each of the band members has an academic degree from university and Brian May (The Guitarist) is a Dr. of Astrophysics (and the guitar he plays (called 'Big Red' ) he built himself with help from his father.
You're explanation and assessment of this music is unmatched even with American reactors! You're english is beautiful! You know how to appreciate music!
The Queen set from Live Aid in 1985 has been called the most amazing 21 minutes in Rock history. The audience participation is phenomenal. Well worth watching again and again.
Listen to a couple of other Live performances: YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY (live at Hyde Park 1976) and SOMEBODY TO LOVE (live at Montreal ‘81) and WHITE QUEEN (live, a Night at the Odeon).....You will be blown away by Queen’s talent!!😊
Freddy was an amazing entertainer. The a cappella group Pentatonix does a great cover of this. Without instruments it is A-FRIGGIN-MAZING! Headphones make this even cooler. 😎 There are parts that switch from ear to ear, which was, somewhat revolutionary, for its time.
A couple of fun facts: Freddie Mercury still to his day has one of the largest vocal ranges ever recorded. He has also sing with some of the greatest ever opera singers, including Montserrat Caballe (who was genuinely at his side, when he passed away). The guitarist, Brian May, is now one of the world's leading physicists. I worked for many years, until recently, just down the road from where Freddie lived. People came from all around the world, mostly young people, to pay their respects. :)
As other have mentioned welcome to the world of Queen. A couple of must do reactions: “Somebody to Love” live in Montreal 1981 and “Who Wants to Live Forever” live Budapest 1986. Queen did fantastic studio work and were just as amazing live on stage. They were the real deal on stage in the days before technology enhanced live performances.🔥👑🔥👑🔥
This is voted the best song of all time - world wide. - Pure musicianship - no autotune or other devices. You must go on reacting to Queen. Somebody to love - 1981 - Montreal - will also take your breath away.
