hard to have drama when you're the best player in the world. It takes a special kind of ignorant to get mad at Fan. I've had the privilege of playing with him a few times (silver/bronze of course on his ascent up) and he's just flat out amazing. But the play he just showed here... i'm sorry. Lucio syndrome is definitely a state of mind in which you believe you can make insane plays while doing everything else right when in reality you try to make plays all the time while forgetting to heal your team. That's some drama worthy of gold rank SL ^_^

Yeah, any hero with mobility or tankiness has that. Just because you CAN technically run at someone to 1v1, doesn't mean you SHOULD. D strike is unreliable even in plat, and even if you fire it at good times it gets strictly worse if the opponents play decently at all.

No need to apologize everyone can improve their play including me and your suggestions were made in that direction which is fine. My only thing was I was not particularly trying to play at 100%, and I felt like it was not only KTZ that lost the game. I definitely could have played better as well on KTZ like you mentioned though.

Kure is usually salty about Fan playing donation requests. Tbf to him, he said on Leon's stream that "Both were at fault. You can't expect your teammates to try hard when you have a troll pick. But you can't flame others when you play bad yourself." or something like that.

Yes the key flaw to kure's argument there is I never expected them to try hard. I didn't type a single thing the entire game even while they were doing random stuff. I only defended myself when they said KTZ is the only reason for the loss, which is clearly not true. Also kure cant review this because this is his teammate so he would be biased and also potentially lower his chance to win if he tilts his teammate even more so it is very much against his interests to do so.

I think CCL is a good community supported effort and I don't have any negativity towards the league itself(Maybe some of the players when they behave like this video though). You might have heard me say HGC level > CCL level and that is not me trying to put down CCL but rather just stating what I think is fact. HGC prize pool per year was ~5Million I believe, while CCL prize pool is maybe ~20-30k. Imagine you have 2 identical job openings, and 1 pays 250x more than the other. Which job will have the higher skilled applicants? It's just how the world runs.

It's essentially like those videos of innocent people being provoked by some asshole until they knock the attacker out cold. It's cathartic to watch a pro who is otherwise a gentle giant be harassed until he stomps the aggressor.

This is why I revere Fan. I think I've never seen the guy tilt. He does get salty but I have never seen him take his hands off his keyboard and just give up, except when his team is obviously trolling. And even then, he's not throwing and trying to lose, he's just taking his foot off the gas. Comparing this to myself, I notice how much I suck as a human, in terms of attitude. This level of stubborn patience and level-headedness is something I wish I had. I get tilted at comparably minor grievances. Even when I'm trying to stay cool, I notice my game goes out of whack. I've watched replays of myself where I could SEE my tilt in my actions without ever saying anything in chat. I can feel myself playing poorly if I'm angry. This dude watches his team troll like mad and stays in place until the bitter end. And this is not the first game of his where he has done so. Guy is an absolute Terminator who will continue playing and winning regardless of how much you try to seduce him to the dark side. It's admirable and highly respectable and I wish I had that power.

You still need to find a former HGC pro and tell them you're better than them, otherwise it doesn't count.

I think that's a huge point you're making. When I'm in SL Gold and I pick Nova, my team doesn't know if I'm competent or not. Same when I see a Butcher first-pick, I'm instantly thinking we probably lose this. Still going to try to make it work but it's like a 1:9 chance. But if I know that this is the world's best Butcher player with insane skills and reputation, I'd probably just shut up and see what the master is going to dish out. Hell, I even do that when there is an obvious smurf account, even though most smurfs suck stupidly hard. How they can KNOW this is one of the top players in the universe and still tilt their balls off over a mediocre hero pick is beyond me. The only explanation I have is that they think THEY are the best player in the universe and pretty much on the same level as an HGC pro, which is ludicrous if you think about it. Bit like saying I am the fastest at my school, Olympic runners ain't got shit on me.

While soak is important, tank and heal should generally not go catch it. Exceptions apply. If you have a high waveclear hero like Johanna or Mei, you can go to a lane, clear it and leave. If your team is doing camps early, you can take over a lane. Brightwing can stay in the remote lane and teleport to her team when needed. But generally, don't leave your team. My reasoning is this: • Soak is important for getting advantage over your opponent. The soak game is like a series of footsteps you take before you even start hitting each other in the face. Having good footing is important. If you get a talent advantage, you have better footing and the fight will be easier for you. You have the high ground. • Your team is very very bad. Evidence: Nobody is soaking. • This means your team is bad enough to feed. Evidence: They can't even soak, so they 100% don't check their map, the level counter, death timers or cooldowns. • This means they WILL feed. You always assume the other team is not bad. • Any soak advantage you get will be nullified by your team feeding. Also, XP advantage was there to help you win the fight, but your team already throws it, so footing doesn't matter if your team hits itself in the face. • Be with your team even if it's stupid to be there on a global scale. Because you change the almost 100% chance of losing into a 50% chance. As your team brawls like idiots, they have the chance of catching someone with their wild swings and haymakers and accidentally winning the fight. Soaking matters ONLY if your team can make USE of advantages. If your team cannot by default make use of advantages, getting advantages doesn't help. So your top priority is keeping the team alive in the first place and trying to get a favorable outcome in the brawl. If your opponent is both more competent in the macro game and in the fight, they deserve the win anyway. But chances are, they are not good enough and your presence will make a greater impact. It's a bit like draft. Picking good heroes, picking a meta comp with tank, heal, dps, flex, offlane is positive in that it gives you +20% chance to win or something. But that tiny advantage is negated by people playing at a third of their expected skill. So don't be anal about draft in low SL. And don't try to gain the macro advantages if it comes at the expense of not babysitting your team. If your team plays reasonably well, you can totally take over the offlane for a while. But if you know they will feed to the first enemy hero walking their way, better to stay with them. *TL;DR: Take bad fights with team if team still alive.*
