You guys do one of the best jobs of campground reviews (especially the individual site info) and hidden gems around the places you visit. I’ve visited several places based on your reviews that I did not know existed - Bee City for one. Roads getting to Vogel was especially helpful since I’m pulling a 30’ 5800lb bumper pull with a Ford 150 6 cylinder. I’ve stayed out of the mountain areas for that reason. Your thoughts on getting up there is extremely helpful. Enjoy your reviews!

Great video! We loved our day trip to Vogel while we were staying in Hayesville, NC (annual tradition for 20plus years). One year, we went up to Brasstown Bald on the 4th of July at night and watched firework displays from all around (we were above all of them). It was actually cold enough that we were all wearing light jackets. That was a great experience. Thanks for sharing! BTW we're down to 7 state parks left in SC :)

Good video. Vogel is my favorite Ga State park. Go there all the time! And the wi-fi is now working!

Glad to hear. As much as we wish to be able to "unplug", we realize that there are also some safety issues with not having cell or internet service. We didn't show it, but Sam Henry burnt his leg with hot coffee on the second to last day. It was hard to reach help.

Thank you for talking about your route to get there. Years ago, I've ridden those exact roads on motorcycle for over 15 years. Naturally, I hated coming up behind those damn campers that are never in any hurry. My, how the times change a person....😅 Vogel is off hwy 180. That's amost as famous as Deals Gap, (if youve even heard of that) for motorcycle roads. They have shirts about 180/Wolf Pen Gap Rd. So, getting to my point, I wondered how I would get my camper up there, and you answered it. When you do get back to the area, take time to find Alexander's Department Store. It's an adventure itself. Also, Brasstown Bald road removed a foot peg from my motorcycle when I hit a yellow, centerline reflector with it. 😢 I had to ride back to Greenville, SC with one foot hanging. It was a fun road until that tho😂

Thank you for the comments. I felt that the road in was a big part of our story for the trip, so needed to be discussed. I took the Tahoe on to have the brakes examined afterward and the front brakes were fine, thank goodness. The back brakes were shot, but they were still the factory originals, so we’re way past their prime. It’s a stunning park and we will make a way to get back.

That's funny that you think those roads were steep. You definitely wouldn't want to go to Black Rock Mtn SP if you have issues going to Vogel
