This song gives me shivers Goosebumps and tears.. that's what great songs will do and the memories that go with them. 1966 Philadelphia so much great music i in that era. this is just one of many. What all can you say about Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil except "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". And countless other hits, look it up !
The original Vogues all worked at Westinghouse Electric in Turtle Creek. One of the group, Bill, was a distant cousin of mine. They were called The Val-Airs in the 50's, as I heard it and named themselves The Vogues after The Vogue Terrace in Monroeville, Pa. where they were appearing and were discovered by Elmer Willet. He managed them and hooked them up with Nick Cencci, a record producer in Pittsburgh.
good gravy - they're still so good! it doesn't hurt that this is one of the best of barry mann & cynthia weil's compositions. to be blessed with such beautiful voices. thank you for posting!
@kenocs78 Remember this was an outdor venue at an amusement park in a picnic pavillion, hardly ideal for a concert. I was just glad that I was able to get this and the rest of the songs they performed. :)
kpdave sound great . Boy what a time we grew up in ! The music of every genre was fantastic whether pop country jazz . Miss those days so much , as a boy I wished I could time travel to the future now I want to go back!!
Nice try ... but the distinct lead vocals of BILL are sorely missed -- check out the original recording and you'll see what I mean. But again a good try, and it's great to see HUGH here ...
This group was pirated from thier name, and new people were brought in. The original lead singer suffered alot from being denied the groups name....The lead singer doesn't sound like the original either. Terrible rendition!!!!!!!!!
They sound terrible-If these groups can't get the original singers, then maybe it's time to call it a career and who's the guy on the far left saying songs WE DID- I don't think we means him !!!
The guy on the far left is Chuck Blasco and is one of the two original members here. The other is Hugh Geyer who sings tenor. He's third from the left.
