Lara Fabian is insane. She's so good. She doesn't just sing a song or tell a story, she LIVES it. Whether she's "been through it" or not, she finds that place within herself and just loses herself in it, and it's magical. And of course, her voice and vocal abilities are out of this world. She's sung this song countless of times since the 1990s and she's never once sung it the same way. She says that something just happens to her when she sings it and it's always different. She's an amazing singer and story-teller no matter what she sings, and whether she wrote the song herself or not, but this one always hits me in the gut. She's incredible. Thank you for your reaction! For your own pleasure though, please make sure to watch the rest of the video too. Lara was literally shaking at the end and she really needed a moment to get out of the place she went to during the song. It's really intense and incredible to see.

She is truly amazing. Her best songs to me are never her English songs. I'm admittedly a fairly new fan but I find that English seems a rather less expressive language when it comes to the emotions that Lara Fabian can convey in her voice. I don't understand French or Italian but I can feel her words when she sings in those language. She does sound very good in English but I find that that language lacks the connection she can muster in her other languages.

Visited her concert in Israel last year. She also sings beautiful(and even sounds proficient) in Hebrew as well. Of course her Russian is not as great(which is kinda strange for French-speaker from one side and usual thing for amount of languages she sings from another) and she still delivers you emotions just as you are her trustworthy friend! Absolutely immersive feelings of her feminine fragile, even desperate emotions always drive my eyes wet.

Lara Fabian should be like a compulsory vocal masterclass lesson or a subject they should teach anyone who learns singing or vocals. She is amazing but falls short on most people's radar because she isn't as popular internationally. Lara was born in the Brussels borough of Etterbeek (like Stromae) to Belgian parents whose mother was of Italian descent. She lived in Sicily for the first five years. When she was back in Belgium she discovered music and took lessons. From the age of ten to twenty she studied singing at the Brussels Conservatory, while she already wrote own songs. At 21 she moved to Quebec, Canada where she still lives. In the meantime, she is officially Canadian as well as Belgian. It's nice that the French consider her one of their own.

Very nice reaction, you really feal her emotions and make good comments. This is simply a masterpiece, no one can tell the story of this song like her - and her voice... Just incredible! I so wish I could have been there and seen it live.

This jaw-dropping performance was my gateway drug to her work last year. I, who never stans anyone, became an instant superfan. She is totally fluent in French, Italian, English, Spanish and writes songs in all of them. (Calls herself a "songwriter with a voice"). She sings very, very competently in 12 languages according to native speakers. I love her timbre, am awed by her masterful technique and stunned by her ability to delve deep and get to the heart of the emotions of tne songs and make perfect choices to present them to the world. As I said - a late-in-life Super Stan. 😂 I hope a patron might ask you to analyze her original Youre3Not From Here; I'm desperate to understand it better. It's extremely difficult but she keeps it sounding very gentle and easy as pie. It fascinates me. Thanks for this reaction! I learned a lot. 👍

I can't believe I first enjoyed your discovery of this masterpiece almost a year ago. Time flies when the world's not really having fun. Here to pitch a request for her original You're Not From Here again (concert From Lara With Love, there should be an upscaled version). I'm _still_ fascinated by it and trying to figure out how she did all the amazingly technical things but made the effort so entirely invisible and seemless. Hope you are well.

Two amazing performances by two equally beautiful young women-- both possessing such enormous talent --Lara Fabian singing her heart out "Je Suis Malade"- and Julia Nilon reacting to and depicting with amazing clarity and grace the emotion of this particularly high level performance---what a masterpiece. Absolutely great job--Thank you both.

You made me tear up. Recovering singer here, French. Thank you for reviewing a French song - that's not something you see every day. "I aspire to inspire", never truer. You make me realize why we NEED another soul to react to what we convey from deep down across the universe. Speaking of bridging the gap between astres, it's a kind of magic, seeing a woman swoon over a woman singin a man's song. This was originally a song by Serge Lama and I just learned that while the lyrics were indeed his, it was a woman who created the music, hours after he told her he was soul sick, broken by love. You seem to be as gorgeous inside as you are outside, it reeally shines through your eyes, windows of the soul. Cheers from Paris

Small note: that was'nt a foreign language, french is her native language.
@aryansigrid
@aryansigrid 3 года назад
@SebastienPatriote Small Fact: If someone does not speak French then a song sung in French is considered to be, in a 'foreign language', to the listener. Lara does speak & sing in French, among multiple other languages but French is not her native language either. Lara was born in Sicily & spoke Italian with her Mother while growing up.

Lara sings like Van Goph 🎨 paints 🖼 You get so lost in the magic you forget where you are. Lara transports us to pain we want to forget & places we would otherwise refuse to go. God bless her. I fell in love with her French version of JSM not understanding a single word. She's a true prodigious savant. 🧠

Lara Fabian my other fav female singer, perfomer next to Floor Jansen. 💖👀💥💥💥 They both can bring out the emotions so easily. Pure art. She is from Belgium and speaks french fluently as well as many other languages. You should try one of her italian songs like 'Caruso' or 'Perdere L'amore' next.

The Lara Army is now incoming. :) She's easily my favorite female singer full stop. The clip you watched was from a PBS special "From Lara With Love" circa '99. The whole concert is a tour de force of both her technical brilliance and her ability to convey emotion which is unsurpassed, for me. I'd recommend "Caruso", "You're Not From Here" and "Perdere L'amore" from this concert, Adagio (the Italian version), Mademoiselle Hyde (which Dimash has also covered).

i agree completely that this PBS "from lara, with love" is a rare gem - another of her eye opening concert of hers is "pure" where her flexibility and performance prowess is on full display.............her performance of Streisand's " Papa can you hear me" is a work of perfection that is, in my opinion, more stunning than even Streisand herself

Great reaction from you to this video. I love this song by Lara Fabian. I believe every word she says, because this is what a breakup really feels like. She sings it with her heart and soul and everything she has, the pain, the despair and all the facets that move you in this situation. I never found out if it happened to her but you can't tell something more believable.
