Thanks for checking out “Illuminated”! We definitely made the conscious decision to drench this track in layers, synths, and effects, because that ethereal and almost womb-like feeling was important to the story we were telling in the track. As a few folks have mentioned, we did a live playthrough video for Metal Injection’s “Slay At Home” series, though we chose our heavier songs for that project and the vocals mostly lean toward harsh. In any case, thank you for giving us a listen!

Yes, they have a live performance! slay at home metal injection, it is two songs "Fiery tongue" and "befallen" but I'm not sure you like them, it's too heavy for your liking so i suggest "crack of light" but again, if you really wanna hear what her voice sounds like in that performance, go on! and thank you for checking out vintersea 😍❤️

Happy to see smaller channels getting attention by bands, really shows they care about their fans and newcomers to their music. Thank you so much for checking us out!! most of the songs on this record have more than 70 individual instrument tracks. I don't even know many how many vocal layers Avienne did but we wanted a certain depth and atmosphere. Dense and somewhat claustrophobic but really warm and soothing. I think we accomplished that.

If you want to hear a live playthrough, check out their two-song set for #SlayAtHome for Metal Injection👌🏼Those songs are primarily harsh vocals though so it might not be your jam. A song that shows a really wide vocal range would be their song “Crack of Light” though. Like you said, most modern bands have a certain level of vocal processing and effect but part of what you are hearing is also a ton of layering of both clean and harsh vocals to achieve that ethereal vibe that was reflected in the video. They sort of like to build a wall of sound with lots of layering of vocals and instrumentals🤓
