Voice Deepening/Masculinization Surgery is done under local anesthesia. There is a small incision on the neck approximately 2.5 cm long, below the Adam's apple, and this incision usually heals well in one week. The new tone of voice is decided together with the patient during surgery. There is no need for voice rest and it is possible to discharge patient the same day of surgery several hours after operation. Change in voice is permanent.
