Fun fact: Her parents used a bell to "call her home" from the woods...!! Rather that yelling like "Aurora, it's dinner!!!".... :-)

In West Virginia, 71 years ago, my aunt used a Conch horn to call us back to the valley farm. We were visiting and my brother went to the cold house to get something and my aunt stopped him to get it herself. When she got near the cold house she turned around and used the Conch Horn to call help to the house. Help arrived and she pointed to a large Cotton Mouth snake laying under the door where air flowed to circulate the house - probably waiting for a mouse. He shot it and the dogs went after it. I'm not sure it was a Fun fact, but it was pretty traumatic at the time :-)

The tone of this version of the song is almost mournful like it's the last desperate cry for people to listen, almost sad. The produced music video version has a tone like a war dance and a warning to those in power. Shows just how amazingly diverse she can be with the very same song, let alone her whole array of different music. Innocent earth child or force of nature warrior.

Yea. i like this settings and voice harmonies incredible Aurora voice. BTW: Aurora often has very different settings for one song. This is more slowed down then original - but it is more fitting to place and this ave. Love both versions. Also agree that she is always very "into" song, you can see her emotions and she also is able pass emotions on others. It is most unique IMHO. Thx for reaction.

This clip should be played at the next sitting of every nation's parliament. Aurora shine as bright as the lights she is named for. Just like other passionate young women (Greta Thunberg, Malala Yusafzai, Jacinda Ardern) with a positive message, she is a beacon of hope for the future. Watch "The River" and "Daydreamer" from the 2019 HAIK concert which was also recorded in this forest. I am not aware of any other current lyricist who writes as brilliantly as Aurora does on important, sensitive issues.

@@glacieractivity Yes, the HAIK version and the original music video channeled an almost angry focused empowerment, while this version is definitely more sorrowful (even Aurora's expressions) and is an appeal to sanity and empathy, yet equally powerful.

I recently discovered you channel and I like the way you seem to enjoy all the music you hear, no matter what genre it is. I agree with you Aurora is an extraordinary singer, songwriter and choreographer. The way she feels the songs and not just sing them are amazing to watch. Personally, I love music of many genres but I want to listen to music that moves me in some way, either make me feel happy and want to dance or just in aww of the beauty of the song. And we do have a lot of wonderful and talented young artists here in Norway like Aurora, Emilie Nicolas, Sigrid and many, many more. But I want to share some of our talented artists that has been in the music business for a long time, and here are some of my favorites. I have picked artists who do have many songs in English or only sing in English. We also have many talents who sing in only in Norwegian too, but I have not added them to this list. I will start with Sissel Kyrkjebø, she is a Norwegian soprano singer with an angelic voice. She has been blessing our ears with songs here in Norway since the early 1980’s and I've seen you have recently been introduced to her music. She is a diverse singer who will try different genres but her voice shines the most in classical and slow songs. Here are some of the few favorites of mine. Sissel Kyrkjebø with “Pie Jesu» live at Oslo Spektrum in 2002 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-otHPPBVtjJg.html Sissel Kyrkjebø with «Your Raise Me Up” from a Norwegian TV concert in 2020 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nOZKuRRnrg8.html Another artist is Jarle Bernhoft. He started his career as a singer and guitarist in a rock band called Span, but he has been a solo artist since 2008. His solo music is more pop, blues and soul inspired. He sometimes tour as a one man band where he uses loop pedals to create the sound of a full band. He also tour with the band Bernhoft and the Fashion Bruises. I like both settings with and without a band on stage with him. Jarle Bernhoft (or just Bernhoft) with “C’mon Talk” and "Don't Let Me Go" Audiotree Live Session 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XoofDQvKSJg.html 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WxIiQzp0E-Q.html Bernhoft & The Fashion Bruises with "Lookalike" live at Oslo konserthus in Norway 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GZpAFddHrSI.html The band Madrugada with Sivert Høyem on vocals is an alternative rock band who gave out their first album in 1999.The band went their own ways in 2008 and Sivert Høyem has had success in Norway as a solo artist. The band did however get together again in 2018 for a few live shows. One of their biggest hits is a duet with another amazing singer, Ane Brun. Sivert Høyem is known for his dark and haunting voice. Madrugada featuring Ane Brun on vocals with the song "Lift Me" back in 2005 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UzxPq0eOjnk.html Sivert Høyem with "Prisoner of the Road" live on SVT1 (Swedish TV channel) 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KTmVTiRnlFA.html Sivert Høyem with the song "Majesty" live at Acropolis in Athens. This song is from the album "Grit" by the band Madrugada released in 2002. 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5P4n6wITFYo.html Another favorite of mine is Thomas Dybdahl. He started his career as a guitarist in the jazz/pop inspired band called Quadraphonics. He decided to go solo and released his first EP in 2000. He is also the singer in the pop group The National Bank and he has made film music for several movies. I will describe his music as blues with influences from pop, soul and jazz. Thomas Dybdahl with "Love Is Here To Stay" live at St. Pancras Old Church in London, UK. This is an acoustic performance. 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FmstiBAgjVs.html Thomas Dybdahl with the song "But We Did" Live from NRK Studio 1 in Norway. This is with a full band. 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P_sD5JK0d0Y.html Unni Wilhelmsen is another hidden gem: She released her first album in 1996 called “To Whom it May Concern” where the first song I have chosen is from. She has said many times that one of her biggest inspiration in music is Joni Mitchell whom she also has been doing covers of. She has been releasing albums in both English and Norwegian. Sadly, there’s not very much good quality live recordings to find of her on RU-vid but I have found two of her biggest hits. Unni Wilhelmsen featuring Henning Kvitnes with the song "Won't Go Near You Again" 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QlcntQOzBzU.html Unni Wilhelmsen with "Anything 'Bout June" live for Låtskriver'n (Radio Station) 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fawXyAHS99M.html This is just a few of my favorite “older” Norwegian artists, there is many more I could include, and if I had chosen artist who just sing in Norwegian the list would have been even longer. I hope you will enjoy all these talented musicians.
