This song was huge in many countries, including my own, the Netherlands. And we dont even have mountains! ;) But there is something in John's voice and in his delivery that is honest and open which makes him so appealing to so many people across the globe, lets call it "A feel-good voice". Love the makeup Valerie, especially the eyes, looks great on you :) Thnx for the lovely react to a classic for all times, this song will remain. (doh i forgot to add how amazingly talented John was, his voice was powerful and moving, he was a gift to us all)

I once saw him live in London with my Dad. I grew up listening to his music and can sing every song. I still remember how sweet and clear his voice live was. His pitch was perfect too.

I grew up on Joh Denver, many great memories. Always loved his music. This song makes me very nostalgic for family campouts and my older sisters would break out there guitars. A very underrated song of his was Grandma's feather bed, it was just such a fun upbeat song. Great song, great reaction.

Thank you for the great words to John Denver. I also grew up listening to him. Born in the early 60’s there were many great artists in the 70’s but Johns sings hit the heart!

I'm a huge fan! Here's what I know and I very much relate to him in the same way... John needed no warm-up time because he was always singing. He at one time worked with hearing-impaired children and understood how they hear things (I'm hard of hearing) and he uses this understanding in his performance. John has always worked at understanding the meanings and passion because a meaningless song is hard to do. That guy with the banjo back there, Pete Hutlinger, said in one of his interviews said John always like to push the envelope at any given time and you had to be ready to change note/chord at that moment like in Calypso! John has written more than 600 songs! Country roads were extremely popular in China because the prime minister or President asked for more than 800 copies to play at China's radio stations when it first came out. John has four songs in the all-time favorites top ten in the RIAA organization. There are four songs that sounds easy to do but are really hard to perform right and it can hurt one vocal cords if done wrong, Rocky Mountain High, Calypso, The Eagle and The Hawk, and ( oh I can't remember this one). When he met Casandra, his second wife, he worked at opera vocal.

I'm hearing impaired too. I agree that emotion can carry a song even if not technically correct, this is common in Blues music. John Denver is talented fingerpicking not easy and he does falsetto not easy technique either. It helps to connect with audience and create mood. He often asked audience to sing with him, probably to connect. I read that he sang for deaf children at a camp and thought this interesting, must have found a way to share meaning. Perhaps thru visuals and rhythm.

I'd recommend listening to John and his guitar only. Just as beautiful a voice as when he sings with an orchestra. For a reaction video, if you can find All This Joy on u tube. He never recorded it, that I'm aware of. He sang it at A Windstar Symposium. Casual setting, just him and a pianist. I would love to hear your thoughts on that.

Its a great reaction to an icon I love. John Denver was once a member of the Mitchell Trio along with Michael Johnson (another great solo singer), until he went solo. He produced demo recordings of his songs and caught the attention of MILT Okun, the producer of Peter, Paul & Mary of his song "Babe, I hate to Go" later changed to "Leaving on a jetplane" and when sang by PPM it peaked to no.1 on the BILLBOARD HOT 100 in 1969. He cried upon hearing his song on radio sang by Peter Paul & Mary. He hosted the Grammy awards 5 times He is very popular in the Philippines & even China....... Another fact, as we know, a great country legend Kenny Rogers passed away last March 2020. You have to listen to this underrated Filipino artist give tribute to him. Pls. you must listen to PHILIP ARABIT cover as a to tribute Country legend Kenny Rogers, here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KpEQaMCt2z0.html , ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SrqsPJ55PbI.html
