That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia. This particular one was based on an Irkutsk folk style. Further youtubers have commented that it is used some parts of the Middle East. It is also referred to as a "glottal stop" and used in English when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu', You can hear it from the Turan Group. Saha people ( Rus) uses this technique too, they called it 'kylyhah'.

I didn't realize you still hadn't watched sinful passion. I still hold this as his best performance ever, which is hard to say considering his other gems.

I remember watching this when it first went on youtube, and DIMASH blew my mind! And then I read some comments saying he uses Auto - Tune. And I thought? Seriously you have just watched the greatest singer of all time!! These jelouse people really do my head in! Anyway that's enough of my little rant. Another great reaction. I remember him saying in an interview that he wanted to include some traditional singing (which reminded you of the Arabic style) to some of his songs. I think it is the way people sing in Kazakhstan in some very traditional songs.

He sung this in September of 2018. There is "Adagio" that he performed at the same Sochi concert that is amazing too. If you notice at 6:50 of your video there is a man and a woman giving Dimash a standing ovation. That is Igor Krutoy and his wife. I hadn't noticed him before today. Composer Igo Krutoy partners up with Dimash for the first time 2 months later in their November 2018 performance of "The Love Of Tired Swans" in the Kremlin. You just dont stop the songs all the time, every 5 seconds, just when needed to give a quick and precise explanation on whats going on and this way you dont break the flow of the song. This was my first Dimash song and blew my mind of course. The song is really cool and he performs it perfect but that final part, the endless belting...oh man, it was so amazing and beatiful at the same time. I had to watch it like 4-5 times in a row the first time and i still do lol.
