Thanks for uploading this! It's when he does the riffs, especially Acapella, that you realise how ridiculous his pitch accuracy and agility is. His own song next episode:). Unforgettable Day. You even see how he improvises in it, there is usually a high whistle note part of it (usually G7 but a D8 in one performance) and either he backed off it cause he didn't think the mic would handle it or it just didn't come out right ( not sure which as I've heard both versions) and he improvises afterwards so you'll see how he approaches errors if they happen when he performs. I love this song and especially this version of it funnily enough I just think it's a beautiful version of the arrangement and when I saw it the first time it was the first of his own songs I'd heard and I was already very sold on him as a singer and it is very clearly for his voice, I can't imagine it'd be easy to do a cover of it. Although the Gloria Wu video has some background it also covers a 1/3 of the performance with cut scenes so I'd probably suggest watching the intro to the song if you want to and then switching to the proper vid for the performance. Again up to you as always :). Love the videos!

He has invented so many versions of cadenza for this song later!)) this makes every his performance unique and Dears appreciate every note in each of them, that is why many of us were so upset when Dimash’s performances were cut at the World’s Best. he "Dimash-a-fided" the song! LOL I love how he takes a well known song and remakes it his own way & gives you a whole new perspective of that song. The journey keeps getting better.....2019 really shined for him. Don't jump ahead- he has plenty of videos that you will be able to watch and see his growth. He has not stopped training n learning! What an inspiration for people- to push for your personal best......he'll tell you- he hasn't gotten there yet! How exciting that is alone for us dears!! Great job Andy!

I am so happy that you decided to take the chronological journey. It's a beautiful road and one that will leave you with a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for him. He works hard for the Dears. On another note... Ep 10 is Unforgettable Day. Dimash wrote the song when he was just a teenager.... so now you get a look at his composing ability. You're going to love it. It's still one of my favorite songs (always) and the Singer performance is my favorite. Enjoy!

I like to go with you true his Singer episode. It is so enjoyable to watch him again how he perfectly managed his success in this competition. I think you will be glad to know the places he achieved for each episode. Many reactors taught he did it easy but it was not like this. It was difficult for him to reach second place in a country that didn't know anything about him and the competition was well-known professional singers with long careers and well-known songs. Not only was his singing important but also the right song choice, the sequence and, of course, the fulfillment of the demands of the show. He had to sing one original song and one song in Chinese. He has competed many times before and also won at home and abroad, but the competitions have never been as long as this one in China. The competition lasted 3 months. Another environment, different food, climate ... all this is important for the singer and is an extra psychic effort. His father visited him several times during the competition to support him.After the second episode OPERA 2, when his father surprised him with his arrival, he said behind the scenes: I want to go home. Thank you for reviewing this song. I love your explanations and analysis. His dynamics and control are such that you almost don't even notice it until it's over. I agree that watching the show first is a good way to see his progression each week and his growth over the course of this show, this is the way that a lot of us first discovered Dimash, watching each weeks episode. Once you're done, then you get to see how his voice has continued to develop and mature since that time. I would also wait to review the "New Wave 2019" videos once you have a few of his later (2017/2018) performances under your belt, again to experience the growth in his voice.

Andy, if you are interested there is another video Dimash and Raushan All By Myself. Raushan is his younger sister & the audience included the president of Kazakhstan. Dimash speaks to the audience after the song. You may have to turn on subtitles for the speech. The next episode of Singer is Unforgettable Day that Dimash composed as a teenager. It also has a different video that you could do both in one reaction or separate. The variation is Unforgettable Day Gakku where almost at the end while he is on his knees he reaches D8 with vibrato for 5 seconds.

R B93 Agree that it might be better not to use Gloria Wu’s version for the next episode, Unforgettable Day. Dimash wrote it when he was a teenager and she intercuts some of his older performances. While it’s interesting to see him when he was younger, it’s a bit distracting and I think it takes something away from the performance which is one of my favorite versions of this song. The song is in Kazakh, but he adds a few verses in Mandarin for the Chinese audience. Thanks, Andy, for another great reaction.

Hi 😁😁 What I love about this Cadenza, apart from the difficulty and craziness of the note choices, is the way the cadenza ends, with the orchestra joining him midsentence, mid-word actually on that F5 "more" in the key of Db. He started the word Any-y after a dramatic pause, sings Eb - Ab (long) - Gb and then hits that F mid-word, after the abovementioned pause, WHICH FOLLOWED those crazy A Capella Cadenza runs.... .... PERFECTLY!!! ON!!!!!!!! PITCH!!!!! 😮😯 That is the inimitable Dimash for you. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
