fun fact (from those who worked with him) that little, quite session for The Way You Make Me Feel, was recorded specifically for this show, in his hotel bedroom, they were able to make it into a recording studio and used matresses and stuff to have a better acustics, and i don't know if you notice, because he tries not to show, but when he performs Man In The Mirror, behing the audience, they played for him the official video they made for the song, so he could be inspired while performing. this is how much he put into those shows

I was born in 1980 and to this day Michael is the only one who takes me back to my childhood. To our generation he always seemed like this ethereal persona. He was not quite human and always had this supernatural aura around him. His talents are still amazing and unbelievably cool today. Show this to kids and they will be amazed. Then imagine coming up with this style in the 80s and 90s. No wonder he became the most famous person ever.

Master Of Voice, I love your reaction. You described exactly how I felt when I saw MJ perform this song live. Two times I saw MJ perform ""Man In The Mirror" live, and no, he was not lip syncing. I could literally feel MJ's emotions and sheer magnetism coming from his heart. MJ truly commanded the stage and "his" audience from the moment he stepped on, he was in full control. It left me speechless and breathless. It literally felt surreal when the show ended. I saw MJ a total of seven times live in concert in the eighties. I still cry at times when I hear his music. I've also had the privileges of seeing countless legends in the 70s-early 2000, in their prime. Out of all of them, I must say, that MJ and James Brown were the ultimate performers that I saw live. I never saw anything like those two legends on stage, and never will again. I took my son to most of the entertainers shows that I saw live when he was very young, he is in his forties now and still whole-heartedly thank me to this day. 😊

Fun fact: The backup singers in album version, not sure about this live version, are members of the Winans family and Siedah Garrett who wrote this song and also features on “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”
