Lauren, so glad to see you back with Voiceplay! I did not know this song, never watched the program, so had no clue what anything meant when I saw it. Other reactors have clued me in, but it really wasn't necessary. It's Voiceplay and they are so, so good. Eli (short for Eliezer, pronounced to rhyme with jelly) has been doing their lighting and effects for at least a couple of years now. I enjoy your reaction and analysis very much and look forward to more Voiceplay and Geoff. Good catch on the ending, by the way. Never stop until the patron list starts to roll with Voiceplay and with Geoff's solo work. It isn't always over when you think it is!

Ashley Diane, we first saw her in their cover of If I Were A Rich Man/Girl. Eli rhymes with Jelly. Layne is also a baritone and has a wonderful voice. Yes, you should never stop their videos until you see the patron list.

Ashley Diane was also featured in their covers of If I Were a Rich Man (wherein she does a rather epic run) and We Don't Talk About Bruno (in which she gets to do some voice acting), plus a couple of short/mini pieces (Surface Pressure, in particular, shows off the low end of her vocal range). Other acapella groups worth looking at (if you haven't already) include the Bass Gang, Backtrack Vocals, and Voctave (which is somewhat more choir-like, but very high-skill).

I love their rendition of this song, and because well, Stranger Things...lol. When Ashley floated it is from Stranger Things season 4. but I love VoicePlay....more please :)

When they do videos like this it is pre-recorded although they do sing at the same time that they are filming. And yes, you can do a lot with edits. But you have to be really really close to be able to pull it off with that much accuracy. Anybody who believes that videos are all live performances needs a reality check. Ed Boyer does the final mix for VoicePlay, Pentatonix, Home Free and other a cappella groups. VoicePlay does do live of course when they’re on the road but also their ACA top tens and their minis are done live. For the rest of them, they each record their parts in their own home studios and send it to the person in charge of the arrangement (usually Geoff or Layne). You can see how close they are when they do some of their live performances. Unfortunately those sound recordings are usually pretty poor (cell phones) so it’s hard to tell.

Always enjoy your acapella reactions! Please check out their cover of I can’t make you love me. In my opinion, it’s their best yet and well worth your listen.

New to this channel, but I love seeing people react to Voiceplay! I see you reacted to a couple of versions of "We Don't Talk About Bruno"...have you heard Voiceplay's version? It also features Ashley Diane and it is amazing! And FYI....."Eli" is pronounced "Ellee". :) (at least for our wonderful Eli)

Not Acapella, but an artist I'd love you to check out- Tiffany Alvord and one of her songs "Dear 2020"

if you have not listened to them yet.. you should try Maytree a South Korean acapella group that dose a lot of shorter videos but they also focus there singing/audio percussion much differently than bands like Voiceplay and Pentatonix. I always think it is fun to listen to like a Voiceplay version of this song then to see how Maytree dose he same song differently you can also compare them when looking at Voiceplays cover of Enemy vs Maytree's cover of the opening to Arcane
