I keep saying that it's very 1980s Miami Vice. The dedication in filming outside at night behind the Oviedo Mall. Fog machine malfunction, losing power to the lights, and being eaten by the bugs. They even had a live audience. Folks out walking and stopping to watch. Laynes Dad's 1972 Pontiac.
From a Vocal Perc Perspective, this has got to be Layne's Magnum Opus. Layne's a magician with Vocal Perc and he continues to pull new stuff out of his ass, but accurately replicating THE Iconic Drum Fill of All Time? Nah man. That's it. These guys are great musicians, and it's a good version of the song, but I feel it's missing the sinister undertone of the song. "If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand". That lyric has an evil connotation to it. Leaving someone else to die when you could save them. In the 80's there was a rumor that this song was about a man who witnessed his wife's rapist die. "I've been waiting for this moment"
