My favorite part in the whole song is Layne at 6:05. Maybe the most insane beatboxing riff I've ever heard, but there are so many crazy vocal things going on it's so easy to lose track of Layne just slaying it the whole song.

Geoff just killed this with his arrangement! It was hard to separate out Geoff's low note at the end but I believe it was a C1. Emoni has done a couple songs with them--Bones and Bubble Yum--and then add Rachel.......a powerhouse combo! Rachel was an understudy for the Wicked tour. This is now my favorite medley they've done. They all get to showcase their talent on this one. I'm still in awe and I got to see it on Patreon a week ago.

That last note is actually a subharmonic, not a chest note. Also, I really loved vpiceplays rendition of Wicked. I have loved this musical since I was like 3 years old, and it's just amazing to hear voiceplay do a medley of it.

I didn't know any of these songs, in fact I'm getting to know a lot of old songs with Geoff and VoicePlay. It's surprising to see how much they transform the songs when I listen to the original versions.❤

The C#1 by Geoff was a subharmonic a and it’s the second lowest he’s hit. Remember how in the halo theme hit hit a subharmonic B0… C#1 is two notes higher.

I think that my favorite thing about this arrangement is that everybody gets to show their strength as well as their softer side. Everyone had a light moment and then everyone had a really dramatic moment. There are so many things to listen for in this arrangement. I listened to your reaction when it first came out and then I keep coming back to it because you keep pointing out more things for me to listen for. But my brain can only handle so much at a time. One thing that I caught was in the beginning of Good News, Cesar does a little riff upwards and Eli kind of bookends it with a riff going down. I only had to listen to it about 30 times before I finally caught that so you’re forgiven for not catching it on the first try through, lol.

Yeah, the last note was a C#1 but in chest-fry mix. In bass singers with a really solid bottom range, chest-fry has this tendency to sound more powerful and natural than even subharmonics, especially below F1/E1, and the characteristic "chest-fry grit" is less apparent (Tim Storms and Paul David Kennamer are the very best examples of this). Since you're a bass-baritone yourself, you can easily test this with and without your morning voice and compare it to a sub of the same note (start with F1). You'll notice that when you still have your morning voice, your chest-fry F1/E1 will sound way more powerful and "rumbly" than the same note in sub. Now imagine if that morning voice was your natural vocal range and you've got Geoff 😄

Layne was the groups original baritone when Scott porter was their beat boxer. Caesar is a bari/tenor. Eli is the true tenor. Their ranges are all fabulous
