Layne said at the end he had at least 4 songs mashed together. There's some seriously complex beatboxing in this - plus of course the story they had to tell without words! Grundles are thoroughly mischievous creatures! It is fun, but it's complex to do - and Layne obviously have been itching to do something classical again. We thank him for it! 🌹🕊
So much to love in this one, Cesar dancing the Can-Can, the carrot colored (orange and green) flames when Layne The Carrot Lord has the book, Geoff's head shake in the Romeo & Juliet Love Theme as it starts, like "This is not going to end well!" There are just new details you see every time you watch it. 💙
Whenever Layne brain takes over a VoicePlay production, going off the rails is a given. 😂 I really enjoyed this reaction! Adding y'all's crazy to this made watching it even more fun! ❤❤
Geoff said once when asked about VP "think Pentatonix but sillier" yep... all the songs are listed in the description. You laughed and had a good time ,mission accomplished, This is a sequel of sorts to "Hall of the Mountain King".
So there was 10 songs, total with a mashup at the end. Layne sang the low voice that Cesar stole. Layne had fun for sure. If you go back to 2:35 you’ll see a loose page. The second to last page warns them to not “loose” the last page. It wasn’t a typo it was a double entendres.
What a blast to watch with you guys. Loved this production by VP. Storytelling was superb. Voices were amazing. Costumes, arrangement, acting.... Wow! So intense by the end. Silly and fun. Can't wait for a third version of the Grundels.
Ogre, did you/will you also watch the interview that Charismatic Voice did with Layne, talking about all the tracks in the percussion? For kicks, watch their Little Mermaid Medley, Rachel is in it. And the low bass was Layne when Cesar was stealing voices. This was a hoot and a half! Layne says there will someday be a third piece with the Grundels, but it will be awhile. Love your reactions to these guys and Geoff!! Thanx for the bonus!
When I was in middle school, I had an elderly music teacher who would spin classical records for 30 minutes each week, followed by 20 minutes of commentary on the songs, which was so boring to my 14-year-old self that I was constantly fighting sleep. Now, 40 years later, I thank to her. Because I know all the titles, even though I have never studied music professionally or been to a classical concert.😂
So glad you are doing this one. You will have fun!! Did you catch Cesar doing the Can-Can? Layne put this together and has promised a part 3 but, it will take awhile.
No instruments, no words lol. The guys keep casting spells trying to cause mischief and Rachel tries to keep them at bay. The voice Cesar steals from Geoff is sung by Layne. Ta Done! lol I had watch you guys twice this was fun.
They did a great job not only musically but the acting out that these songs were a conversation or argument. I am half tempted to sit down and write the dialoged of what that conversation was. And yeah, all the songs are so well known from other sources that it pulls memories you forgot you had. Great job Gents.
The music is all listed in the credits. This is a follow up to last year's In The Hall of the Mountain King. Where next? Layne told The Charismatic Voice in an interview that he was playing with something like 140 tracks in arranaging this. Yes Cesar apparently stole Geoff's and Rachel's voices. But of course it was just magical. They often use coloured contacts for the more theatrical pieces.
Notice that, when everyone was panicking, Cesar was the only one who was the one bouncing around, waiting for the chaos. But the fun... Yeah, Rachel pulled off the ultimate Mike Drop in the end! You guys had me giggling. Especially the Muppet reference. Keep it rockin.❤
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B7UmUX68KtE.htmlfeature=shared Shrimpee Shrimpees.... *Giggling* Yes, I'm just as insane as you guys are, LOL.
The only opera selection is the third excerpt, from Bizet’s Carmen. The rest is from symphony and keyboard literature. Such a fun medley. As a retired musician, I’ve performed most of these and it’s a nostalgic return to my previous life as a musician. Glad you enjoyed the chaos.
I think my first introduction to all the music was from Bugs Bunny and Looney Tunes. I don't know the name of any of the classics, but I could probably remember what cartoon they were in... Layne Brain is a perfect description.
A delight - something to tickle our fancy. I've heard tell that Layne did Geoff's voice for Cesar, Rachel did her part. I do not know if this is true. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor - J. S. Bach Disney's Fantasia used this for the opening of the movie in 1940 Eine kleine Nachtmusik - Mozart Used in The Scarlet Pimpernel 1939 Habanera from ''Carmen Suite No.2'' - Georges Bizet in Disney/Pixar UP also in Trainspotting Symphony No 5 in C Minor - Ludwig Van Beethoven in Breakfast Club, Austin Powers, Howard's End The Blue Danube Waltz - Johann Strauss II 2001: A Space Odyssey and Disney's The Jungle Book Dance of the Hours - Ponchielli Disney's Fantasia hippos do ballet Für Elise - Beethoven Rosemary's Baby 1968, Patch Adams, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Django Unchained Thus Spoke Zarathustra - Richard Strauss 2001: A Space Odyssey Orphée aux enfers, Frensh Can Can ACT 5 - Offenbach Little Mermaid, Moulin Rouge Romeo and Juliet (Fantasy Overture) - Tchaikovsky V for Vendetta A Night on Bald Mountain - Mussorgsky Disney's Fantasia Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, "In the Hall of the Mountain King" - Grieg Night at the Museum, Needful Things.
Thank you. I recognized all the pieces and was trying to remember what movies I might’ve seen them in. I knew Fantasia! And Moulin Rouge but beyond that it was a head scratcher.
@@janetdw You're welcome. I was in marching and concert band so I knew almost all of them but I really wanted to know the movies that had them. Fantasia is probably my favorite Disney.
@@bjspeck4337 Fantasia is my favorite as well. When my son was four it came out in the theaters again. I prepped him for the movie explaining that like ballet (because I had taken him to the nutcracker ) there were no words but there was still a story. So we went to the theater and this lady in front of us had no idea what was going on. She kept yelling “something is wrong with the soundtrack - there’s no dialogue“. Finally my four year old leaned forward said “Lady there are no words. Chill” I didn’t know whether to be embarrassed or applaud him. (She got up and went to the lobby, presumably to complain, but she never came back so maybe she got a refund.)💁🏼♀️
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast from what I understand Layne has a vocal range almost as large as Geoff. I saw somewhere that they both have about 5 octaves.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast Ah, but did you notice that around the time that the love spell was cast, that missing last page was peaking out of her bosom? 🤣
Lol The song that Jerzey was on crack and Ogre was on girl from MacDonald's was Fur Elise... the song that we all had to damn learn to play in piano lessons! Arghhh lol
