To be fair Geoff does the high parts in all of his own song covers he’s done but he still shocks us all when he does either the higher tones or when he drops to the basement
Ashley’s Voice is phenomenal. I can’t get enough of Cesar’s voice. Of course Layne, Geoff, and Eli voices are spectacular. Together they are FANTASTIC.
To some extent it is a remix, most of the original song plus some input from Gwen Stefani's cover, then their own unique stamp on it. They are the most incredible arrangers as well as singers, and the whole production is just what they do. Now move on to Hoist The Colours.
Geoff shows his range in a lot of his covers in his own channel, you should check that out, maybe start with Blackbird or House of the Rising Sun, with VoicePlay I'd say the Oogie Boogie Song is a great song to show his range (although you maybe want to save this one for Halloween) there's also The Little Mermaid Medley.
I was waiting for your reaction to Ashley's run. It was exactly what I thought it would be, and exactly the reaction I had when I first heard it. You're right, though, that this whole "Upgrade" was a total vibe. Yo, they've taken literal show tunes, songs from a play ( Fiddler on the Roof ), and turned them into something that people might listen to at a club. Who DOES that? Always amazing to hear what they come up with next. Fun reaction, thank you for doing this one.
Great reaction! If you want to hear more of Geoff's upper register you should look for his solo channel and the Blackbird video he made. It really spotlights his full range high and low.
Both Geoff, VoicePlay and their guests are on another level of talent, they shouldn't be so underestimated as they owe absolutely nothing to these Grammy winners.
Geoff actually hits those high notes all the time. Check out his solo work to get a good idea of his full range. Blackbird, High and Dry, House of the Rising Sun...he's got an amazing range. He has a solo channel on youtube as well :) Seriously give it a listen!
He has no issue dropping 3 octaves in a single line of a song... And I have seen him climb almost as fast. But it is nearly Oct... Headless Horseman is waiting for you.
i think this is the first time he has got that high that clearly because if you look closely, as he does the High notes, Layne starts to smirk with the "I told you that you could pull those notes off. I win" lol.
I saw some post a few weeks ago say they (speaking of either VoicePlay or Home Free, but honestly, that goes for both of them) don't cover a song, they improve it. And in my head I added, "And they make it their own."
