Voiceprint DI Deep Dive with Special Guest, Aaron Short 

I'm currently using a ToneDexter along with an EQ, Reverb, Delay, Boost, and Looper pedals. My pedal board is too big for some of the places I perform at. I would love to see and all-in-one acoustic multi-effect unit that includes the VoicePrint technology, Align series functionality (Session, Reverb, Chorus, Delay, DI), boost, looper, and tuner. Something similar to the T-Rex Acoustic Soulmate, but using the LR Baggs IR and Align functionality.

This is actually solving a never ending issue: recording guitar and voice at the same time (highly recommended, recording one after the other is much worse for the songs naturalness). A good dynamic mic close to singer’s mouth removes any unwanted guitar sound, and using this pedal make sure you don’t pick any voice sound in the guitar channel (that’s what happens with external or even internal mics). A game changer

Thank you for this video. Many of my questions have been answered from this conversation. I play a lot of songwriter shows in Nashville and other places, many on great sound systems and some not so great. I use my pedals almost always at these shows (either a Session DI or a Venue, with the Align Reverb at times). Most other players plug straight in to the PA, many with no onboard EQ. Everything is left to the host who may or may not be good at running sound. You may also be on stage with 2-3 other writers for 3-4 songs each where little attention is paid to sound before they step on stage. Some great players and others at many levels across the board. For me, anytime I fail to bring my pedal I regret so in the first verse. It's just not the same. I am always showing folks what I am using to improve my sound. So many songwriters aren't focused on the sound of their guitar, sometimes it surprises me. I am constantly trying to fine tune my sound and this looks like exactly what I need as well as the many other writers. A great sounding acoustic guitar is so important when you are playing songs that no one has heard and most are not familiar with you as a singer. The guitar needs to be the support that takes nothing from the performance but adds beauty and definition to the song. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the Voiceprint, lucky I have an iPhone.

I just bought a Taylor 614CE Builder’s Edition, and my one hesitation was the ES-2 system. Funny enough, I contemplated putting an Anthem in my Taylor and this is in a way, doing that! I was just contemplating buying a new PA as well. I have used Bose L1 Compacts and L1S models with the B2 Bass. I was thinking about the Bose L1 Pro 8, but maybe a used L1 Compact with an LR Baggs VoicePrint DI. That would give me Bose sound with EQ through your pedal. Love it!

I agree with Jim regarding all in one pedal, especially one that supports multiple inputs, at least two.

Aaron you asked , now that you have the voiceprint are you going to design pickups to work with it? He said yes and now we have the hifi.

this is really great, and I am excited for this. I do wonder, the full voiceprint sounded a little out of phase. Any thoughts?

ANDROID!! YES!! This video is very informative, but a little out of date. Around 1:20 Aaron asks if the app will be available for Android devices. The Android version has been released. I've only had my Voiceprint for a few days and I've successfully created presets on my Oneplus8Pro (android 13) and my Samsung Tab S6 Lite tablet (android 12)

Thanks a lot for this great video. It is helpful for me to understand gear from a technical perspective. I feel it helps guide decisions on how to use the gear. I have the Voiceprint DI used in conjunction with a Lyric Classical installed on a Cordoba C10 classical. When I got the Lyric Classical installed, I would have to say I was a bit disappointed. It did not live up to the demos. When I then married the Lyric Classical with the Voiceprint DI, I feel like the picture is complete now. I love the sound I'm getting. The beautiful tone of my Cordova C10 is coming out the speakers. I did have a question about use of the iPhone microphone. Does the AccousticLive app know what model of iPhone you are using and then compensate for the microphone characteristics of the iPhone model you are using? And another related question; would you expect to get better results feeding an external mic to the iPhone when creating the Voiceprint? Or is the software designed to compensate for the iPhone mic characteristics, and so it is best to just use the iPhone mic?

Mr Baggs have you worked out using the Voice Print DI through an acoustic amp with effects? I have a Boss Singing Pro amp. Is there something I need to consider in order to use your pedal with that amp? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

the app hasn't had an update for over 8 months :(. are you still committed to this product? also, do you need to make a voice print at each venue? or is it a set once? and when you play live, do you need to phone to be there and connected as well? or can the phone be left behind after the unit has been setup?

Hi, sry for my many questions: did yout think about 3 potis for bass, middle and trebble. Every room is different and I have to adjust very quickly the presets on stage if I use the house system (and the voiceprint as DI).

So, if I understand that right: this pedal is for all 3 systems: magnetic, piezzo and mic pickups in acoustic guitars? So it works with blend systems with the anthem? And third question: how about good acoustic sounding archtops with magnetic pickup - I have one with an vintage DeArmond pickup?

When L.r. Baggs said "the future is digital" I thought: I bought the newest iMac, and 6 Months later it is crap, because of the new computerchip apple did. There is a 1954 Gretsch archtop hanging on my wall, a good friend of mine has a an vintage tube amp... everything is still fun after so many years. So I think: I stay analog. With old DeArmond Pickups and lr baggs Anthem. IMHO
