I too served in Vietnam as a medevac crew chief '65-'66 and again in '69. I rarely discussed my Vietnam medevac service. 2018 visit to "The Wall" I met three guys that our crew saved. That reminded me that what my crew did, meant something.

Great video. I have a question: Maryland born pilot goes to VietNam and comes back and flies another 25 years. Mentions he was a Colonel, was he in the Maryland Army National Guard in 1987-1988? I was there after serving as a Crew Chief on Hueys in the regular Army and we had a Colonel Mueller. I know this was filmed in 2006, was this the same man and is he still alive? Thank you.

I was a pilot in the Air Cav and we had call signs not the tail number. Later I few in another unit and we also had call signs. This was in 70 & 71 so I guess things changed over the years after Wally served.

I really do appreciate what you do and the men you interview. These are great men and they need to be in the National Archives. Always watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸

When we watched a movie with some tough looking actor holding a riffle, dangling his feet in mid air in an open helicopter, or movies like Top Gun, Maverick, etc. , We can't help but think brave men like you inspired it all. Thank you for your sacrifices.
