Polished up from my first version - BEST WATCHED IN FULL SCREEN HD.
Trying to fly in between wind storms can be challenging with the air being mildly gusty. But when the forecast looked favorable to fly up from N. Phoenix to Sedona AZ (via Cottonwood), I took a shot at it. Yes - the video could be smoother and I certainly could have gotten a little more 'up close and personal' with the rocks, but I'm pleased with the result given the conditions I had to fly in. It's enough to make me reschedule a trip back to Sedona during a period of the year when the weather is more predictable. Enjoy!

Hello to Switzerland! Thank you for the kind words. I have many more videos flying over some very scenic mountain ranges throughout the Northwest. Trikes really are the 'motorcycle of the sky'!

I was raised in Flagstaff, just north of Sedona and have done some extensive exploring on the ground of this area. There are roads all over the place to land on. Besides, a little risk keeps the adrenaline flowing ;-)

the wing can be removed and rolled up into a 2' x 16' cylinder. I easily trailered to whole thing to AZ.

WB - you'd enjoy the forum I'm presenting at this years Pacific Northwest EAA gathering. The topic is Mountain Flying Safety. There's lots more info in addition to lz's you may be interested in. And BTW - most all of this video had suitable lz's easily within reach as depicted in the opening scene. I edited it to show the good stuff.

That is awesome! How often do you have to wind up the rubber band? I just saw right at the start of the video, but did you wind it up again off camera? 8^D

I'm curious, what would you do if you experienced an engine failure flying over terrain like that? Some of those areas didn't look very "landing" friendly. Would you pull your chute worst case?

Is this type still available? There's hardly anything without a front strut out there.

Thats True. This is a DTA Trike (so a search on that one) I believe was made in France. Not sure if they are still in business but I know Larry from Evolution Trikes makes a version called the REVOLT - it is exceptional!
