The voices of veterans come alive as former military men and women share their very personal and poignant stories of service. VOICES: Veterans Storytelling Project is the culmination of storytelling workshops by Orange County theatre artist Dave Barton.
Dick Gray enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966, was offered the opportunity for officer training, and during his three years of service achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. In this follow-up to his story of combat experience in Vietnam, he reflects on the process by which he learned about the VOICES program and became involved, and his belief in the vital importance of sharing and preserving the stories of our veterans, both for history and their own healing.
VOICES: Veterans Storytelling Project is presented by Arts Orange County, Heroes Hall at the OC Fair & Event Center, and the Tierney Center for Veterans Services. VOICES is made possible in part through funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, the Orange County Community Foundation, Heroes Hall Veterans Foundation, and the William Gillespie Foundation
