Can't thank you enough for sharing this. Not only did it help fix my issue but saved my sanity in the process. Happy to hear I'm not the only one who struggled with the instructions! Thanks again.
Just in case anyone is interested, I was having this problem and getting COUP20 instead of COUP 04, and it wasn't working for me. So I used the same initial procedure, but instead of selecting the 'COUP' setting, selected 'CH', and changed it using the dial, from 20, which is what it was on, to 04. That changed the radio 'channel' (apparently). Then went I carried out this procedure it came up with COUP 04 and the process finally worked! Hoorah! Thanks for the upload BTW :-)
Woke up in the middle of the night last night with the heating on full with this error, this video helped me resolve this issue quickly so thank you so much for posting it
Thank you so much for posting this. Like everyone else, I have been demented with this and was planning on buying a new thermostat because there is no information anywhere on how to fix this problem. Amazing. Thanks.
I'm visiting Scotland and this Error message showed up when the heat came on blasting hot in July in my rented flat. Used your instructions, plus the added note about COUP 20 from OCD Stee below in the comments, and IT WORKED! Thank you so much for posting this extremely helpful video! Much appreciated.
Yo mate, been having this problem for a few days now read all the instructions that came with it but nothing. Like you said nothing online about this issue. Thank you, resolved my issue with boiler controls.
Thanks so much for posting this. My elderly parents’ heating had been on all day due to the error. Not what they need in July. I managed to sort it for them from your instructions, you saved the day. Thanks again.
This happened to me again, arrived home from work and the house was really hot, boiler must have been running all day. (E82 code on hub) I followed the instructions like I've done in the past but it didnt work, I was getting COUP1 and my heating wouldnt go off. Managed to fix it after a lot of trial and error by switching the boiler off (un plug) and on again. Tried following the instructions again and it worked. Happy day! This has to be the most infuriating boiler I've ever dealt with lol. Thanks again for the video mate, cant tell you how many times I've watched it 😂
Absolute lifesaver! It's not as complicated as it first appears. Just follow the instructions and it pairs up again. (wireless connection seems to have disconnected, resulting in the boiler going schizo overheat mode). Been sat here while British Gas bleeds money off me with this STUPID Wireless thermostat. I hate this product. Being a Tenant, I didn't have the luxury of choosing the heating hardware, so for now I'm stuck with this crap. The idea of being able to set the temperature from anywhere in the home sounds appealing, but you have to factor in the risks, which involve the batteries needed for the wireless thermostat and also the unpredictable wireless connection. If connection is lost with the stat, the boiler stays on in full blast mode, costing you tons of money until you re-establish wireless connection. It's not worth the meagre convenience when it involves losing so much money from a boiler stuck on. Sharing this was the best thing you could do, thank you so much!
I AGREE with all comments but suggest next time go for Ideal boiler - 12 yr guarantee, good price, Plumbers love them because they are designed to fix easily - competing now with Bosch Worcester. Vokera insurance now risen from £13 pm to £20 pm - cost of a new boiler in 5 years !!!
This might sound silly but where is the receiver? Its says to hold down buttons on receiver but I only have the boiler and smart device, I called but was told I should have a separate receiver, a little confused
I have done this. When I get to scrolling to 18 and accept it shows COUP20 not 04 and the rest of the steps dont work. I have used this in the past when an E82 warning shows and it worked. Do you have the vokera number so I can contact them. Thsnks in advance
Hey great vid man, I have a question, The flame automatically turns on my heating, but I want to switch the automatic off cause it just randomly turns on during the day ? Is there a solution?
It will be randomly turning on because you have your thermostat set to a temperature. When your house goes below that temp the boiler will kick in and make sure the house goes back to that temp. You can always turn down your thermostat
You are a ruddy star. Thank you. Is there any chance you could copy/paste the contents of the email into the video description, just so I can print it out?
Thanks you just saved me £62 today as i was going to purchase a new stat. Only because i checked online at the end of last winter when this happend to me, and as you said no ifo online. I am so glad i checked today before purchasing. Worked first time. Thank you again.
Hi Mate thanks, just bought a VOkera opentherm boiler but have been advised by Vokera that they do not support NEST with their open therm boilers, what a pisser. it s a simple on/off one from now on. @@jasonglen87
Just means the thermostat has lost connection to the boiler. Try turning the dial that sometimes gets it reconnected. Plus they run on battery's which need replaced from time to time as I have found once they start dieing the connections issues multiply
E82 Fault on the Vokera BeSmart Follow the below instructions: 1. Press and hold the room statjogger for 3 - 5 seconds 2. Timer symbol, standby symbol and party mode will flash along with NODE 3. Scroll jogger wheel anticlockwise two clicks and PL should appear on the screen flashing 4. Press the jogger wheel PASS will flash 1. Turn the jogger wheel clockwise until 18 appears on the screen 2. Press the jogger wheel to accept code COUP C04 should show on the display. Now leave the room stat for several minutes and the display will revert back to the main screen. Now test the room stat by putting the stat into party mode and joggle the stat up and down pressing the joggle wheel to select desired temperature you will then see if the receiver and room stat have paired. Depending whether the room stat is calling for heat or not calling for heat will determine the way the LED’s are flashing on the receiver unit. Not calling for heat (OFF) LED’s will be solid Green with flashing amber. Calling for heat (ON) LED’s will be Green Red and Amber.
These things are crap .. E82 means that it’s lost connection with the boiler . Just turn the wheel and the error will go away. I’m thinking of changing mine to the hive thermostat

*stares at Coup C12 rather than Coup c04* >.< I dislike this boiler... Changed the channel to 04 with the instructions further down. Four 'numbers' are 9A89 - - >.>
