Welcome to the SR gang. Toughest boats out there, as I've proved lol. Top vid and info pal. Gonna upgrade myself soon hopefully. Puddle is looking good 👍
Cheers Smithy. Yes, they are definitely made of girders lol. I went to the puddle this morning for a run with the M41. I got speaking to a dog walker there. They gave way to me walking on the new ledge, heading to the puddle. He went on to say that he had slipped and fallen in to the side of the puddle, the deep bit. He said it was about 5 ft deep as it didnt go up to his head. It them got us talking about the channel that had been dug to drain it. He reckons it was a group of motor bikers but didnt know why. So i am assuming that maybe one of their bikes has slid into the deep edge bit and the only way to get it out was to drain some water off ? And apparently it was some locals that have repaired it to preserve nature again. Apparently so !
Thanks Wil. Yes, i have seen the volantex planes. If i had plenty of room to store a plane I would probably buy a cheaper lower end model to try out. Volantex do some good stuff considering their prices 👍
Thanks Mark. Yes, i also like the colour scheme , i think it looks tops mate. Am pretty happy with 38 mph, its a decent speed for stock out the box. Cheers buddy
Thanks Lee. Been down here about three times recently. The puddle is back to all its glory lol. It’s a cracking little spot. Gonna take the tank down here for a first run soon. When its dry of course lol
Yeah nice looking boat is right. Very nice run in the Puddle. lol Sounds good and seems REALLY smooth. Thanks for sharing Tibster. You should enjoy this one.. :)
The butcher is back to its former glory. Apparently it was some bikers that dug that channel in the puddle and drained it. I am assuming that they must have slid into the side of the puddle somewhere, were it is deeper around the edges, and the only way to retrieve it was to drain it a little. Some dog walker told me. And then local nature lovers have repaired it and plugged it back up, apparently so
Cheers Stax. Yeah, i think this is a pretty decent speed for a boat that is straight out of the box. 38 mph is quick on water mate. See you soon matey 👍
Thanks a lot dude. yes, self righting is an added bonus lol especially in a large deep lake. I have just googled the marlin and yes, it does have similarities.
Nice one tibs another long excellent video from yeah. 😂. 👍 Puddle looking good. I'm not surprised u ordered wrong battery's.🤪👊.. 😂 I see what u ment now 35mph on higher c rated and 38mph on lower c rated. But iv explained to you.🤓👍 👍 Soo all good. 🤠👍
Hi Tibster, that is a beautiful looking vector and wow! 38mph stock, that very impressive performance for an equally impressive looking speed boat. You’ve got me curious on the Volantex series. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😊
Thanks John. These Volantex do a good varied range and they are very good value for money. Like i said in the video, a few of the lads have got various model and i have a couple too. They have performed really well matey.
Thanks a lot mate. I am really enjoying the boats at the minute. They are exciting to run because they accelerate that quick and the noise when they pass you is mint lol
Very nice Tibster a awesome boat and 38 mph is not bad on water for stock setup! Strange the heavier battery and lower C rating went faster 🤷♂️ lol! Top stuff buddy! 👊😎
Cheers Mike. Yes, i thought it was a bit weird that the 2 batteries with lower C rating would be faster 🤷♂️. So i decided to buy another set of batteries Mike, in order to do a little experiment. I bought a set of 2 x 2s batteries with a 50C rating on them. I have since tried these batteries out to see what happened with them, video soon lol
@@tiborvon Some batteries are just better than others and a lot of companies don't try to hide behind C ratings. Should be interesting to see what happens Tibster! Have a great night buddy!
The puddle is all fixed Duncan. Apparently it was some motor bikers that dug out that channel to drain the puddle. The dog walker that told me didnt know why they did this but i can only assume that maybe they slid one of their bikes into the puddle along the edge and needed to drain it to recover it. So local nature lovers have then made arrangements to repair it afterwards, apparently mate
Thanks Jay. I am really enjoying the RC boats at the moment. They are mega to drive mate. I love the acceleration and the noise that they make when they fly past you. Do you drive a boat or do you captain one 🤷♂️. Lol
@@tiborvon 😂 That’s a good question! 🧐🤔 I think you “Drive” a boat, unless it’s big enough to require a crew (even of 1 other), Then you “Captain”? I think my next RC might have to be a boat bro?
Honestly Jay, i am loving the boats at the minute. Especially the big Traxxas one. There’s something about them that really excites me. I have been out with the Vector again yesterday at the puddle and i have been there again today with the M41. You dont get much run time but it’s definitely exciting few minutes. A few of us are probably going out with the boats again on 1st May although we have not decided were yet. We want to go somewhere different.
Nice vid tibbs showing off yer new thingy majigys 😂😂😂 very stable reliable boat and worth every penny 👍 I run mine on 4400 I think about 50c no problemos top stuff
Cheers Benjamin. Am really enjoying the boats at the minute. The acceleration on them is mint lol. I agree too, these Volantex boats are good value for money. Can’t wait for the next lake blast in a couple of weeks mate 👍, so get searching for a new spot !!!!!!
Cheer buddy. Yeah, it was a decent result for a stock boat. I am really enjoying the RC boats at the minute Gary, i think its the rapid acceleration that they have. You should get that jet boat out on the water 👍
Thanks a lot dude. Yeah, the colour scheme looks really nice. I am really enjoying the boats at the minute. I think its the rapid acceleration that you get from them that makes them exciting to run and watch. Cheers buddy
I actually like this colour better then the orange one 👌 , 38mph is wicked, good to know what it does bone stock . I’ve converted mine to 6s , still need to test it out though . Awesome video tibs . Big thumbs up 👍
Thanks Ash. I would have got the pro version but i dont trust getting stuff from the east at the moment. I still waiting for my untreatable Russian body from nearly 2 years ago lol. 6s !!!! Noooooooo way. It’s going to fly lol. Can’t wait to see it run bro
@@tiborvon ahh man unlucky with the Russian body . And yeah I don’t blame ya. For now just best to buy from uk . And yes I can’t wait to test it on 6s it’s gonna fly like a rocket haha 😁
Hi mate, glad to see the famous puddle has been repaired and restored...👍🏻. This one sounds very sweet and those Tiborvon stickers looked spot-on, on the hull - almost like the manufacturer put them there. Yeah, a mystery why those two batteries got a faster speed than the one, you would think the extra weight would have slowed it down a little bit, but I'm no expert on batteries. Top stuff mate, I'm enjoying these boat videos...👍🏻🙂.
Thanks buddy. I have been out to the puddle today funnily enough, no filming today just a few laps around with the M41. I got speaking to a dog walker whilst there. He told me that it was some motor cyclists that dug out the channel to drain the puddle. He didnt know why they had done it. But i am assuming that maybe one of them has slid their bike into the edge of the puddle were it is deep and perhaps the only way to retrieve it was to drain some water out ? Apparently it was local, probably volunteer conservationists that repaired it and plugged it back up. Yes, i thought those stickers looked really good too, i think it the silver on the black that makes them stand out. RcLee, who is now called Rc Jedi made those stickers for me. I have also been out to the puddle with this boat again since. The result of the batteries really puzzled me. So i have bought a set of 2s x 2 ZEEE 50C batteries to try in it. A little experiment so to speak. Video coming soon !!!!!
@@tiborvon Hi mate, wouldn't surprise me if those bikers screwed up the puddle to drain it completely with the intention of using the whole area as a scrambling site. I have one of these old mining areas near where I live ( but it doesn't flood ) and scrambler bikers are always playing on it. Just a thought. Anyway glad it's back...👍🏻👍🏻.
I just received my sr80 and I’m running 2 batteries they are 3s 2200 120c Ovonic batteries and it’s way faster than useing 1 2200 4s 100c Zeee battery that I originally purchased to use in the boat. Everything is stock metal rudder will be installed shortly.
It's a cool boat. I think I had better result with 2 batteries rather than 1. I enjoy running this boat. It is, stock. I have made a trailer for it now
Thanks a lot buddy. Yeah, its pretty quick for a stock 4s boat. 38mph is fast on water. I am enjoying the RC boats at the minute. I like the rapid acceleration that you get from them lol. Cheers buddy 👍
Thanks a lot dude for watching and leaving a comment. I have bought loads of those ZEEE batteries over the last 12 months or so. They seem to work really well dude. Decent price too
I cant really compare the 2 boats that you mention because i have not had any dealing with the Veles. But this boat of mine is decent for the money. They do a pro version too, its an orange colour. It has more metal parts and is a couple of mph faster.
Thanks a lot dude. I am really enjoying the RC boats at the minute. I think its the acceleration that attracts me to it lol. They sound mint too when they fly past you. 👍😎👍
Great video and boat bro! And test 👍 While watching I was about to ask if you checked with the 2x2s 2200 30c. That is an oddball result 🤷 That 40 C batt hesitates to crank out the amps ❗
Thanks bro. Yes, i was a bit shocked at the result. So much sop that i went and bought another set of batteries. I bought 2 x 2s 2200mah but with 50C rating. I have returned a couple of days ago and tried out these new set of batteries to see what happened. Video coming soon lol
Nice boat Tibs. The first run looked faster than 35mph to me. Did you feel a lot of difference running this mono hull compared to your other boats. I was wondering about comparisons in stability at speed and also turning. I only have one boat which is old and slow (a bit like me these days 😀) and I have no experience with these modern brushless craft. I would be interested to hear your thoughts. 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
Hello matey. Very good question. I think i will have to answer this from gut feeling rather than expertise lol. I havnt really used the v hull enough times to answer expertly. But my gut feeling is that the V hull boats are not as stable on the water. They seem to bounce a little more and also shake side to side more. I also think that the V hull is not as good at turning at speed. Especially when the water has movement in it. Obviously the big advantage is that the V hull boats tend to be self righting, although not all are, which is a big advantage when you are anywhere that’s deep. I suppose that’s why i enjoy going to the puddle because i can retrieve my boat wearing my waders as it only about 3 ft deep. But i also enjoy my non V hull boat, the M41, as you have to try and use a little skill when running it. Rather than just pulling full throttle and not having to worry about it turning over, i do actually enjoy the fact that you have to drive it depending on the current conditions and if that means that you cant pull full throttle then so be it, if that makes sense. A bit more realistic Derek. But i am really really enjoying the boats. They are so exciting to run. The acceleration on these boats is amazing and the noise they make when they pass you is awesome too. Mega fun Derek
Hello dude. I have not tried 3s in this boat. Only 4s. Run time on these boats are never that long to be honest. In the video, you see it running on the single 4s battery that is 2200mah. I think i then checked the battery and it had 14 percent left. Well that was the actually amount of time that it ran on that battery as per the footage ion the video. Of course when you put 2 x batterie3s in, it will double the run time. It also depends on the MAH of the batteries but in this boat you can only really fit small batteries in it, there isn’t much room. So i am not sure about the answer to your question but it will probably be somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes of flat out. I guess.
