A couple of years ago I chatted to Volbeat when Rob was relatively new to the band about how Michael asked him to join. Michael also talked about changing his lifestyle with the help of a professional boxer and eating healthier.
Either this guy was raised properly or as a whole danish people are incredibly well mannered. I have never heard a more polite and respectable rock musician than this guy michael poulson except maybe mark knoffler. he is a great credit to the industry and i hope kids look to this guy as a kind of roll model.
I think it’s more about being humble and greatful hence the politeness. It’s a part of the Danish value. And in general I think the Nordic Scandinavian countries have that shared value.
First time I saw them perform live I thought "They don't mail it in to cash a check. They don't live to get jacked up on drugs. They really care about nailing an awesome show."And this interview confirms that. Love these dudes. Can't get enough!
Damn, these guys really are role models. I used drugs for well over a decade, and it's nice to see a band I really like and appreciate that hasn't done them. It helps me to continue on my straight and narrow path. Also, their guitar riffs are very fun to play, and put a huge smile on my face every single time! Thank you for doing this interview, and thank you Volbeat!
Now I admire this band more, hearing Michael and Rob say they never tried drugs. Thank you for breaking that stereotype, as drugs are very much for losers.
For me this band in general broke a lot of stupid rock'n'roll / metal stereotypes and I admire them for it. Michael Poulsen - short haired guy in Under Armour shorts plays much better rock than thousands of soulless shitty bands with long hair, beards, fancy leather jackets with expensive instruments. They just play what they want and are 100% natural, people love them as they are, no need to pose anything. BTW true, drugs are for pussies, I never understood the hype bands got for taking drugs or drinking like pigs. It's just pathetic... Love this band \m/
It is extremely difficult to know how awesome you are, but come off to people as humble and unassuming. I just found these guys 3 yrs ago and have not heard a song that I didn't like.
I love the comment Michael make: we found him on a bench, hung over, Anthrax didn't want him... 😂 😂 😂 That was hilarious, though I know it's just said for fun. Michael is funny. Love it! Volbeat is the best! WITH ROB!... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was a fan of rob before he joined volbeat when he was with anthrax and later on became a volbeat fan and when i found out rob had left thrax and joined up with volbeat i was surprised blown away confused but very excited.
ok I have only been a Volbeat fan listening to their music for about 3 years and just recently decided I really wanted to dig into more info and interviews on Volbeat to try to find out more about what makes them tick and makes them who they are as a band and individuals --- loved this short interview with them. Most relaxed I have seen Michael Poulsen so far. Learn alot about them. Thanks.
Your interview came on before they played Volbeat's Wacken Live performance. Again, Michael is pretty relaxed with you. Where are you from? And do you know each other outside of the interview process. The above interview is still my favorite ;-). Please let us know when you get this interview up on youtube!! Thanks
I am from Hamburg:) No, we don´t know eachother outside the interview process. Here is the other one via magenta. I will see if I can put it on youtube:) streaming-magenta-music-360.akamaized.net/#/concert/9208205928595013722
I really love doing interviews, it is my passion but if one doesn´t have a certain amount of followers on youtube and instagram, then one isn´t as relevant for companies/channels anymore. If you enjoyed this interview please follow me on youtube and instagram, so I can continue doing what I love :) Insta: kellyvision_13
Love Volbeat and Michael Poulsen. Plan om seeing them in Burgettstown Pa but so disappointed to find out that you have to pay to have a meet n greet. Been to see them twice before and i guess me not having money is the reason i havent got to meet the band 👎👎👎
I spoke with Michael on Facebook. Won't reveal his name, but I will reveal that he recently tried to put down an aspiring rap artist, simply because he doesn't like rap. He's got no respect for other forms of art.
Actually Michael told me in an interview that he is completely not active on social media, so I don´t know who you were talking to but it surely wasn´t him. Plus he is the nicest guy, I highly doubt he would be so intolerant....
Eh, maybe it was an impersonator or a different Michael. They look similar, but it could be just him using a picture. Just wanted to put this out there. It's never okay to call other people's creations a joke, regardless of who you are.
