The AMX-004 Qubeley is a Newtype-use Mobile Suit (MS) manufactured by Axis. It is developed based on the old Zeon military's MAN-08 Elmeth. The onboard Psycommu system manages the control of the unit and the operation of its powerful terminal weapon, the funnel. As the dedicated unit for Haman Karn, the leader of the Neo Zeon forces, it accompanied her from 0087 until her demise in 0089 during her duel with the ZZ Gundam, making it a legendary machine.
The twelve funnels developed as an improvement on Elmeth's bits employ the energy CAP technology. Compared to bits with built-in thrusters, these are smaller, lighter, and more powerful, but their operational time is shorter, requiring them to return to the mothership for energy replenishment during prolonged combat. Additionally, based on the AMX-001 prototype Qubeley, this unit successfully reduced its size, becoming the first MS to incorporate a Psycommu system within a standard MS size.
