Ok, so i have same system in transporter. But when i select app-connect it asking me for a code from the dealer. Dealer knows nothing about it. How do i activate voice control and carplay?
Great review! You mentioned that no info appears on the dashboard display, have you had a chance to try a VW with the Active Info Display to see if nav info or music info appears? Thanks
Just wondering if this unit had been updated for use with the Volkswagen CC 2012?. The unit in the video seems archaic in so much as you need to plug your iPhone in with a cable..
No this physical unit was never upgraded as the Volkswagen platform moved to a different integrated type of stereo system. Remember Wireless CarPlay wasn't around in 2016. This unit did however have Bluetooth.
My rcd 330 plus is failing, the bluetooth is not activated, it just keeps looking ... when connecting the usb cable apple carplay icons appear but after 10 seconds it turns off, why does this happen?
Hi there, We would suggest one of the Alpine headhunts. If you have a T6, as demoed in the video, there is a great range of models available that integrate almost completely with the VW system. Please below for the range we offer www.advanced-incar.co.uk/product-category/multimedia/ For further information and to complete further compatibility checks we advise you get in touch. Please see our link below: www.advanced-incar.co.uk/contact-us/ *Please note the contact form is currently offline until the 17th February 2023.* Once received, we will be in touch as soon as we can to assist you with your enquiry. Tune In radio is very badly implemented with CarPlay and constantly crashes or just does not open as you discovered. And, with IOS10, it doesn't even show up at all on CarPlay.
I think that CarPlay overall isn't as great as what it could be. We've used a lot of different systems that have CarPlay installed. The Stock Apps worked well in our experience. The Spotify and TuneIn Apps do work ok (When they work) most of the time but have also experienced the same issues as you've reported in my car. Yep I think the TuneIn App just needs to be updated for iOS 10 and then it will probably return!
3rd party apps need to improved before i upgrade to this, especially Spotify. Also Alpine need to create a 4v pre-out audiophile version of carplay with bluetooth (cos new carplay update allows bluetooth connection as opposed to cable) before i think of ditching my 178-bt
Currently unable to connect CarPlay on my 2016 Jetta sport. Once I plug my phone nothing happens, no detection, no charging. Can it be something wrong with the USB port? I’ve tried multiple cords as well and different phones. Can it be a fuse? If so, you know what location number is it? Thank you for the help.
How do I get apple car play if it's not available on my stereo? I've got a 2019 T-roc and this option is not available but the stereo I've got is all touch screen and just two knobs
Advanced In-Car Technologies I hope you can reply me, I’m about to install this on my car and I want to know if the CarPlay function needs the USB port to work or I can use that function with Bluetooth only, Otherwise Ill look for the RCD330plus that includes the USB port inside
***** probably will. Just if you can save £700 it's good but if it's an inconvenience then I'll go for it especially if the cars gonna last me 3-4 years!
Have you ever noticed that in modern app demos there's always a moment when the presenter says, "I don't know why it's doing that?" "Turn the power off and then turn it on again."
Horrible system, VW ignoring the blank screen issues that owner of this system have. Dealers want to gouged you for diagnostic, have no idea why it behaves this way and ask you to shell a $1200 for new system...CarPlay connect once in 10 attempts until it stops connecting completely. This has left a bitter experience with me, getting red of our Tiguan and will never buy a VW ever again.
