2011 vw cc battery light stays on and the car won't run, new alternator installed but did not work out. how you8 can you diagnose the vw battery light problem?
Fusible link / midi fuse strip link fault finding should take no longer than 2 to 10 minutes on a non charge by doing multimeter resistance and continuity tests on the fuse and cable as soon as you see no charge. 5 bucks for the part, 50 to 60 bucks to change it and for knowing where to look saving the customer hundreds and saving them down time. Anybody that charges over 100 bucks for a fusible link is a bad man and the customer should get a refund to say sorry for the lack of knowledge in the auto electrics game. That would be the second thing I'd look at if it was easy to access. Shame on some people that don't spend 10 minutes to do the right tests, and shame on them for not knowing a simple resistance and continuity skill.
So... moral of the story is: If the Dealership repair quote seems too high, take the car to a quality shop that will verify the 1st shop's diagnosis not just go with it like your shop did, then quote the actual problem and price to fix it. Ok got it.
Hey How do you fix this issue? I have the same issue where I have to press the gas pedal slightly to make the alternator charging (voltage goes up from 12v to 14v). I only does this everytime I started the car
That just means the alternator is getting weak and has to spin faster to make the voltage. Definitely still need to replace the alternator, it’s on the way out👍🏼
I own a vw passat cc 2011. Same issue I think. No electrical power at all on dashboard, in car lighting, cant unlock using remote. Battery just change 2 days ago. Is because of fuses too?
Visually, there is no change of color on the fuse or do I have to unscrew it? Can I Detect it by running a diagnostic, but there is no power at all from the car.
