Bakers DIY Lifestyle how are these bearings holding up?
@BakersDIYLifestyle

So far so good. They were a brand I had used before and haven't had any issues yet

You are so lucky that just fell out lol. I had to take mine to a shop to have them pressed out. I had to take the whole knuckle for both sides too. Never seen stuff rusted that bad. Great video!

@@BakersDIYLifestyle I will lol. Do you know what the tool is? That would maybe be able to take this out? I know they have a polar for, but it probably would’ve broke anyways.

I just used a regular 3 jaw puller with fire and a BFH. Definitely not for the job but it's all I had haha

My axle WILL NOT go back in. Any suggestions? I was hoping to see you actually do it
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle Год назад
Try to use one hand to hold the back of the axle while the other one works the assembly on. Once the splines line up it should slide on enough to get all of the bolts started and you can get it the rest of the way from there.

I assume you got it back in?it is 11 months this old. If that axle is at all tiled, it wont go in all.

Did you need to grease the axle end or the hub assembly?

Corrosion was from mixed metals; aluminum steering knuckle with steel hub

Do I need to worry about damaging that ABS sensor when wire brushing the insert?
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle 4 месяца назад
You can just unscrew the abs sensor and get it out of the way

Hub assemblies do not require any maintenance. They come from the factory ready to go and when the bearing fails you send in the core.

What was a mileage of your CC when you were changing the wheel hub bearing?
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle Год назад
I want to say somewhere around 130k but I could be completely wrong
@kingjames5946

It didnt look like u used a torque wrench for the back 4 bolts attaching the bearing. I couldnt get mine to spec because it wasnt going past 60 +45 degrees instead of 90. is your bearings still good even though it may not be to spec?
@BakersDIYLifestyle
@BakersDIYLifestyle 4 года назад
The bolts on the back don't actually have anything to do with the bearing. Those just have to be tight so your whole assembly doesn't fall off. The only one you really need to torque is the axle nut squeezing the bearing together
@kingjames5946

Bakers DIY Lifestyle so your bearings have been fine so far? how many miles did u put on them?
