I’m looking at sciroccos right now, idk between the 2.0 petrol or diesel with 181 brake, it’s slower but supposedly more torquey. Also manual or DSG in your opinion?

It depends on how you use car. If it gonna be your daily car you should consider how many kilometers you drive. If you drive small amount of kilometers and mostly in the city, 2.0 tsi in my opinion is better option, if you do a lot of kilometers, mostly on highways TDI is perfect. From the other side, if you looking for best performance, fun and upgradability choose TSI, for sure is more expensive in daily use (parts and petrol) . TDI is for sure more fuel efficient and reliable, but less upgradable, and fell less sporty, but still is great and powerful motor. Transmission choice is very individual, manual is for people who like shifting gears, for sure is less expensive if something broke, the DSG is very convinient, especially in the city, it's fast and precise in shifting gears, and make a lot of fun when you change gears manually by paddels, but it's expensive in repair, and changing the oil is crucial for extending the life of transmission, so look for well-kept cars. I choose DSG and I love it, but as I said, this depends on what you like. I hope I helped, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. :D

@@szkutt390 I’m looking at a high mileage tsi, it’s a GT trim so doesn’t have the paddles but has many added extras. It looks like it’s been looked after, full service history, water pump and dsg oil recently changed, says new FSH and chain. Idk if chain is referring to timing belt. It’s done 110k miles and for petrol I know this is a lot. Do you think the tsi has many more miles in it and shouldn’t be too worried or go for something with less miles that is perhaps a lower trim level. Thanks for the help the cars are so beautiful I’m just stuck between these and a mk5 golf gti/ gtd. also I live in uk country side where i rarely make long distance journeys. I think the long winding roads could be a blast with the tsi.

If car is in good condition, you shouldn’t worry about milage, my friends car done 255k kilometers, and still drives perfectly. If timming chain, water pump, and oil in the engine and DSG was done on time and history of the car is reported it should be ok. Before buying make sure that car doesn’t consump oil, that was factory defect in 1.4 could be possible in 2.0 tsi, you can also check the spark plugs and ignition coils, it shouldn’t be older that 5 years, and you could ask if the intake manifold was cleand of carbon buildup. On the test drive make sure that car runs smooth and the transmission changes all gears without any jerks, test it on cold oil and most important on hot oil (~98°C).

How are the noise levels in this car? I'm on the fence between a 2007 Scirocco and a 2009 Audi TT, but I am very sensictive to high noise levels like road/tyre noise when rolling etc.
@szkutt390
@szkutt390 Год назад
Frameless doors, are significantly more noisy than normal, at speed 140+ you can hear wind. Beside this the noise level is ok, like normal compact car. I drive it 90% highway and I’m not complaining about noise in the cabin.

Is it reliable enough for daily driving?
@szkutt390
@szkutt390 Год назад
Yes it is. I daily drive it for a year and only things I’ve done are filters, engine oil, DSG oil and thats all. Costs are like normal golf or octavia.

@szkutt390
@szkutt390 2 года назад
City 8-10 l/100km Highway: speed: 120 km/h is around 6,5l/100km 140 km/h around 7l/100km 160 km/h 8-8,5l/100km My lowest consumption is 5,9l/100km, at night on country road rolling about 90km/h.

@@szkutt390 I want to buy this car so I dont have to be afraid of consumption 12l/100 km by a normal driving? and I have heard that engine has problems with OIL consumption, it is true?
@szkutt390
@szkutt390 2 года назад
As far as I know sciroccos 2.0 tsi doesn't have oil consumption problems from factory. From my own expierience with scirocco engines (CAWB, CCZB) none of them consumps much oil. If car have problems with oil consumption probably was treated bad. This opinion came out becouse of engines mounted in audi especially longitudinal mounted ones. If you want to know more about scirocco 2.0 tsi read VAG SSP 824803.

Scirocco 2.0 or Golf 5 GTI ?
@szkutt390
@szkutt390 2 года назад
It depends, if you need more practical car choose golf, it has 5 door, more space on back seats and bigger trunk. Sciroco is also practical car but less than golf, it has lower roof, only 2 long doors, smaller trunk. I chose Scirocco becouse for me the look of this car is amazing, and i combines low cost of parts that fit from golf, A3, Octavia and other VAG cars, and sporty look, and is more practical than, for example Audi TT. I also considered Golf V GTI but for me it was too common, and it was very difficult to find car without rust. Golf has more reliable older engine EA113, Scirocco - newer EA888 that by people is rated as unsuccessfully build - oil consumption, but I talked with people who use scirocco's for long time and they don't report any oil consumption, If car was looked after and oil wasn't changed every 30k kilometers it's good engine especially with DSG ;) So, I advise you to make test drive both cars and than choose what you prefer :D

@@szkutt390 Thank you so so much. Does Scirocco 2.0 have better fuel economy ? Here in Germany its a bit hard to find GTI that has been well taken care of , sadly.
@szkutt390
@szkutt390 2 года назад
As far as i know, the EA888 consumps about 1l petrol less than EA113 in GTI's, but I didn't checked personally.
