I sat in the rear seats and it is more spacious than something like an Audi q7, despite being smaller on the outside. It is like the Tardis from Dr. Who.
A Q7 is 130mm wider and has a wheel base 200mm longer than a Tiguan All space. No way is it bigger inside, a Tiguan is in the same sector as the Q5 I.e. Mid size 4x4
@@matthewstrange3778 Try both! The main thing is that you can really stretch your feet/legs under the front seats in the Tiguan. The q7 is good, but not as good. Yes, q7 is better for 3 in the back together because it is wider.
This a great improvement from VW, just like the ID7. Seems they may have upped their game from a few years of doldrums. Personally I am glad they are doing diesels. Electric is unaffordable for the majority of people and will be for years to come. If you do long miles it is the only way forward. Great review Nobby. This could be one on my list come the summer. Expensive for the bells and whistle one though.
EVs are just another e-waste nightmare waiting to happen. Just wait for the politicians to sell their shares in EV component companies and see how the EV fad collapses.
56 and 58 k for the r line, only 2 models available. Nice car but they are smoking crack in VW. Same cars are under 40 UK Pounds. Once again a complete rip off in Ireland!
Mark. As we all know will sell by the bucket load Imagine the pre-orders! And yes many customers could [and should!] buy a Golf or 308 estate! Needless to say this Tiguan will be eye-watering for a 'full spec'd' model. And let's face it clients will spec it all! It's got bigger and yes VW have done a fantastic job. Looks, design and quality. The previous model was a hit for everyone from farmers to NW Londoners, this will be no different. Great review as always. Just watch the Tiguan 'fly out' the showrooms. .
Already own a new shape 2021 r line. Had the car 3 years only disappointments are the steering wheel with slide buttons had to be replaced as it fried the controls underneath. Common fault with back log had courtesy car for 8 weeks glc merc, still preferred the kit on my tiguan when i got it back. Had to replace rear discs and pads back in august and front discs and pads in january. The tiguan forums said this was common as they are made with the cheapest of materials as the only way the vw garages can make money on consumable parts. Dont know if the Scottish weather never helped but nearly £ 800 for vw parts and fitting was not cheap and to disintegrate in only 2 and half and 3 years. Believe me i was in the vw garage under the ramp and seen the rusting for myself. So this might i mean might put me off another vw but i do like my kit.
I like the way they made subtle design changes on the exterior whilst maintaining that quintessential Tiguan look. I still prefer the straight lines and sharp sleek edges of the 2023 Tiguan R line models. This one is more rounder and blobbier just like the iD models but sure it will grow on me the more I look at it. But the interior though is a big step up from the dated and bland cockpit of its earlier predecessors. Well done VW.😊
My first car is Tiguan 2017, and the thing I hate the most about it is the arm rest, worst ever height of it and length. Oh and I had two major issues in it, triptotonic shifter since it’s automatic and coolant thermostat and pump.
Thanks for the review, it's very informative. When you mentioned 6,5 lit per 100 km, is it when it run on pure petrol mode or when it combines both el+petrol mode?
Do you know what cursing speed the PHEV engine cut in taking over from the electric motor? I had a Lexus and in theory it was limited to less than 30 mph but in reality over 17 mph it switched to engine. This was virtually useless for mixed town and highway driving.
it's really expensive unfortunately for what's offering.. In my country(Romania), a mild hybrid it's sold for 42k euro which it's really a huge price... I think the PHEV will be way over 55k which it's a shame, with this money you can go for a GLC. Also, the waiting time of 9months+ it's really a shame.
How good is the 3rd gen as compared to the 2nd gen. And what % of fuel efficiency increased in 3rd gen Tiguan compared to 2nd gen, especially for Petrol only models?
Excellent review, thank you! Must have been great driving around the Castellane / Gorges area, have spent a lot of time on my bike there and it's epic!
The front of Tiguan looks similar to a Citroen Dispatch van (check it). Unfortunately in my view the Citroen van looks much better. VW has obviously transfered the design and style Department completely to Skoda. How this bland and boaring design was signed off by VW is beyond me. Costing a whopping 60K for the Elegence trim I will be keeping my Tiguan 2.
The skodiaq is in a different league really. Firstly it is considerably larger and more spacious. Secondly the interior is much better thought out, more ergonomic and no shiny plastics anywhere
Review is great as always. But the car... I used to love Tiguan but not anymore. The back looks ugly, like the T-Cross. No physical buttons for me means it won't be my next car...
Little boxes on the hillside Little boxes made of ticky-tacky Little boxes on the hillside Little boxes all the same There's a green one and a red one And a blue one and a silver one And they're all made out of ticky-tacky And they all look.... just the same
Nobby, love your reviews, but for Christ's sake just say VW, because that pronunciation of VALKSWAGON, does my head in. It's VOLKS, there's no A in the VOLKS bit, jeez. 😂
What a gorgeous car and I love the colour but what are they doing still building these awful diesels. They have learnt nothing. I thought they were going electric obviously not. Come on VW stop building these diesel cars
Unfortunately EVs can't provide the same flexibility and versatility as ICE engines can. Also, switching to EV only manufacturing will bankrupt the car makers considering how bad the sales figures are in comparison to ICE engines. The investments in to EVs are not paying off.
Why do they need to stop? Because you say so ? I ve just bought a new Tiguan diesel and I love it, no silly expensive batteries that will need replacing , absolutely no range anxiety , they still make them because there are still people who want a choice
@@debbiecocker7071 wait till you try to sell it in about three or four years time when you try to sell it. You will probably be paying them to take off your hands. I’m not an EV evangelist or even a tree hugging warrior……in fact I don’t own an EV. What I am objecting to is that VW eventually owned up to their emission fixing and then promised that they were going to change and produce sustainable EVs and here they are producing dirty diesels that are polluting the planet……that’s what I object too. Saying they are going to change their ways and here they are still producing these diesels (and probably fixing their emissions)
@@namechecksout6300 you don’t know anything about me or what I drive but you quick to judge me and my personal opinion. Just to let you know I don’t drive an EV…..so much for calling me an EV Evangelist……you got that wrong as well as your opinion on diesel cars
