Thank you. The slot on the inside center of the hatch let me manually open the non functional latch. I yanked the plastic and got my hatch latch/motor removed without wrecking any parts. It takes some force to remove it. That was a great video!! You are the real deal!!
I changed the boot lock on my 2020 Tiguan last week. I removed the torx screws and just unclipped the panel at the bottom around the lock without removing it completely, there is no need to remove the side trims or the top one. You can then bend it enough to use a ring spanner to remove and refit the lock. It took about 20 minutes.
Hey buddy you mentioned that I don't have to remove everything to get to that lock. Do you have a video showing that? Wife's Tiguan apparently got water in the tailgate and now the lock does not work. I need to replace it, just want to do it right.
