You show the air shock bolts in the passenger side and it appears they are easy to get at. My 2006 one if the bolts is under the air intake and vacuum hoses. Did you remove those or am I missing something?
@@EmilyRhn Thank you for replay. I have another dilemma. Did you have to remove wipers and plastic cover to get to the third screw on the left airspring? Screw under brake fluid reservoir.
Good job replacing but that measurement you took is useless. Regardless of where you tighten the 2 bolts, that distance will be the same. This is because the rubber bushings will deform under 700kg of load once you jack up. The proper way is to some how measure the angle of UNLOADED upper suspension arm the to mounting bracket. On the VW Passat, that is 17 degrees, not sure about Touareg.
Wouldn't it be easier to just measure the height at the outer end of the control arm to the wheel arch at normal ride height and thighten the bolts with the control arm at that height before you fit the balljoint? Would assume that's close enough at least. It also depends if you ride most in sport or comfort since that's two different levels.
