Volkswagen Vanagon Floppy Mirror Syndrome. Quick, Easy DIY Fix. 

A thumbs down from me. This won't last but a short time. Each time you tighten that bolt, it pulls from the plastic seating. The reason the mirror is slack in the first place is that the bolt is coming away from the seating I solved this problem permanently on my Syncro. It's so many years now, I've practically forgotten, but I removed that bolt completely. Then drilling from the inside, I drilled right though to what is the top. I then widened the hole at the top, and threaded the bolt back in from the top. I cannot recall at this time though, I I used a longer bolt or was able to reuse the old on. I plugged the hole at the top with some black silicone. Perhaps I will do a video one day ;-)

Camp Runamuck I would love a set of truck mirrors and plan to get some eventually. $170.00 per side is just a little tough to swallow. JC.

I get that ..it’s just crazy . Pretty easy to get 30 to 40 thousand in a 2wd Vanagon ..Mine has keep me broke for years but I love it so much I just keep adding stuff year after year and the end isn’t in sight yet ..I’ve probably got 5 times in mine what the insurance would pay me on it . But they are nothing out there quit like a Vanagon and it’s like a high every time a new part arrives for it

Some mirrors are beyond tightening. New mirrors are about $20.00 each. Sounds like its time to replace yours. JC.
