I'm pretty sure they all lose their shit mainly because he blocked him and not because Tsukki cheers. It's just that they had to show Tsukki cheering first because it's a important scene so it looks like they are reacting to Tsukki screaming. In reality, I think both Tsukki and everyone else screamed at the same time. (Not saying necessarily that they didn't notice Tsukki screaming, just saying that him blocking Ushiwaka and winning the second set was probably the main reason)

@@LixienXIII I also understand that the same way. How can no one see that everyone in the public were in shock because they never expected that monster to be blocked by someone who we never thought was going to!? But Tsukki knew better, he finally felt the moment, and the moment he screamed, he snapped everyone out of the shock and they started screaming with him. Everyone was brought back to reality. Heck, even I couldn't close my mouth because of the block, but then I went in the hype because it was actually real. Karasuno had elevated, and the last crow had finally arrived. I always find the same comment of people screaming off of Tsuki's scream, but no lmao. People like to go more for the meme than the actual emotion inside the episode, just because it 'sounds funny telling it like that'. Props to you man for being one of the few who actually payed the right attention.
@bbittercoffee
@bbittercoffee 2 года назад
@@blinkasto182 I never told it that way because "I found it funnier to tell it like that", that's just how I reacted, the block was insane but it was built-up to, even if you didn't know anything about this moment, you knew that something was about to happen, but when he cheered, that was unexpected to absolutely everyone, even the watcher, it also looks like Shimizu actually got scared so I think that's another reason why people interpret it that way. But it doesn't matter, you see it the way you like to, and I'll see it the way I like to, it's much more emotional to me that way.

Let's be honest, ever since this Season Started we've been waiting for this Edit: Kei is Tsukki. You probably know this already but in Japan it's respectful to call your equals by their last name. Oikawa calls Kageyama Tobio because Oikawa is Kageyama's Senpai and he considers himself better than Kageyama(on the outside he does, we know he's actually insecure about it). Kei is Tsukki's first name, and his Big Brother's last name is Tsukishima, so since both Tsukishima's are there, Tsukki's older brother just calls Him Kei.

@WandernHunger
@WandernHunger 2 года назад
@@veralicious. maybe I worded it a bit wrong. I didn't mean that Tsukishima DIDN'T get hooked on that moment. Rather I meant that I thought that him shouting seemed out of character to me. Perhaps I've some personal bias because I have a similar stand-offish, critical personality to him. For me when I experience heightened emotions (really excited/terrified/etc), I go completely silent but my body does the 'talking' for me. Which is similar to how Tsukishima is portrayed in the manga; he does a massive fist pump (same as anime), and there's heaps of tension in his body you can see. His mouth is clenched tight during the internal celebration, and in the bg the rest of the team + audience is going wild with the "YOSHA!". Guess I personally prefer it the manga's interpretation since I react exactly the same when I get something perfect in my own interests (not volleyball ofc). That said, the anime is still goose-bumps worthy. Just was a shock the first time I saw it since I wasn't expecting him to yell hahaha

I find it very fitting that Tsuki's "moment" was specifically related to the strength of his mental game. Aside from it being something he's good at, I think it fits his personality that what really gives him a rush in competition is that feeling of out-smarting someone. About winning against the guy in front of you, and doing it because you got into their head and read them like a book.

17:40 The thing is that in Japan doesn't exists the stigma that animation is only for children. There's different target demography for different anime. There's anime targeted to children, to teenagers, and to adults. Haikyuu is in the demography targeted for teenagers, that's why it has a complexity level that you won't find in a kids show
@crazyscarecrow8136
@crazyscarecrow8136 2 года назад
@Caiman Araújo I think the issue with western cartoons is that, while that stigma is going away, the target audiences are still primarily kids. Even with more mature series like Legend of Korra, the overarching themes are usually hampered by a lot of kid-centric jokes and dialogue. There’s very few that really reach the same level of maturity as most teen/adult-oriented anime.

@@crazyscarecrow8136 I slightly disagree. I think there have been quite a few western adult cartoons out there over the years, but when they're more adult, they reeeally lean "adult." @crazyscarecrow8136
@crazyscarecrow8136 2 года назад
@@pppeachezify I actually was going to mention adult cartoons and erased that bit. I feel for the most part, the "adultness" of these comes more from crass and inappropriate dialogue rather than serious mature storytelling. There are exceptions, like Bojack definitely tackles some very serious subjects and does it extremely well, but they're exclusively comedy shows and we don't have anything close to the level of something like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Monster, or Psycho-Pass. Personally, I believe the biggest difference in the two industries is manga. Most anime is based on an original story written by a single person for a much less financially demanding medium, which allows for a lot more variety. They also have existing fans entrenched in those IPs, so they're easier to invest in. Studios that make original anime are typically only those that have already had a lot of success doing a variety of other series. In contrast, cartoons are mostly original IPs that need to be pitched and approved for US network television and those based on existing IPs are usually game and toy advertisements with original stories. They may start with the vision of a single person, but they almost exclusively need to be written by committee which leads to a lot more uniformity in the industry.

And he asks Bokuto "why do you do this?" and bokuto explains that everyone has a breakthrough moment that makes you HOOKED on volleyball, for Bokuto he explains was when he started to get really good at line-shots, and he says this will happen to Tsukki, at some point. And this is why that Bokuto flashback apears right before Tsukki started cheering like crazy, because this ONE BLOCK, ONE POINT OUT OF 25, it's the breakthrough moment for Tsukki as a volleyball player, that gets him HOOKED.

I think you misunderstood the reason Tsuki was able to block the last hit at least partially. It is indeed true that this worked because everyone (Hinatas and Kageyamas quicks, all the softblocks, the funneling, the dump from Kageyama etc.) was adding pressure. But the pressure didn´t cause the Shiratorizawa setter to make a different decision intentionally (which i believe is what you thought here) but the want to finally escape the block resulted in a forced mistake in form of a faster set than usual which ended up to low and to close to the net and made even Ushijimas monster spike blockable. Also Tsuki wasn´t just thanking them afterwards for the team effort but he constantly thought about all the pressure they were applying to the setter and patiently waited to punish that one mistake that all of this may - and finally did - result in.
@neelneogi5757

You are not wrong in pointing out that it was Tsukki's blocks that frustrated Shirabu to send that low set to Ushijima. But it is also true that Tsukishima acknowledges the fact that Nishinoya's receives and HInata and Kageyama's minus tempo attacks also contributed to Shirabu wanting to get a clean spike from Ushijima. It is more evident in the manga, where Tsukishima, comparing read blocking and Tendo's guess blocking, states that, while guess blocking is either 120 points or 0 points, read blocking is a 75 point block followed by a 100 point receive.( The 100 point receive here, is Hinata's receive after Tsukishima managed to soft block Ushijima ). This again, is a fantastic juxtaposition of the two clubs and their core values in team building, making this a battle of concepts.

The extra budget on Tsukki's celebration animation gets me every time. The shaking fist, especially. It easily could have have been a static frame with just his mouth animated, but Tsukki was FINALLY exploding with hype, 2+ seasons' worth of repression, and they drew all of it into that one scene!

In Haikyuu terminology, commit blocking is when you're charged with blocking a particular player, and you follow and jump up with that player while ignoring other factors, so they couldn't use that term to represent 'guess' blocking.

Tsukki is a great example of "fortune favors the ready." The opportunity presented itself and he was able to see it when it happened and he capitalized on it. I love that in a team that mostly lives in the moment and by the point, Tsukki is there to always be looking at the bigger picture.

More than the team effort, that part was about acknowledging how tsukki had been paying close attention to the opponents setter (understanding he was the weakness of their game), and patiently waiting for a mistake which he eventually toke advantage of.

This moment is what all us Haikyuu fans have been waiting to see Coach react to. What's even more impressive, is that he planned this far ahead. Being just enough of a nuisance to throw off the other teams setter, then luring Ushijima to hit into the gap was pure genius. i love how you can see in Shirabu's eyes at 28:59 that he knew he screwed up his toss. Also, I am pretty sure that flashback moment between Tsukki and Tadashi wasn't actually shown in an episode until this one. Someone can correct me if I am remembering it wrong.
@MH-ql4nh

Also the 'luring Ushijima part' was hinted at in hint S2 when Kuroo moved his hand last minute to block Bokuto. Tsukki asked about it afterwards, and so you can see how he has been learning all this while!

I think the idea is that Tendo's "Guess blocking" is a type of read blocking...except that instead of reading his opponent's physical form, he's reading their psychology. He has very high emotional/psychological awareness - the "guess" or "intuition" is about him being able to second-guess what his opponent is thinking with creepy levels of accuracy. Tsukki on the other hand, shows his intelligence in a different way, through situational awareness and reading his opponent's form.

8:45 LOL no coach, ushiwaka definitely isn't keeping his team in check and remind them not to celebrate too early, he is simply stating the fact that it isn't a victory yet as they still need two points. Everything Ushiwaka said is what it means *literally*, no extra intentions behind.

For anime voice actors japenese and English alike it’s a pretty tight knit crowd. A lot of the same people work with each other a lot and get to be in a lot of things. The range of the Japanese voice actors always blow me away in particular they could play a sweet child in one anime and the most terrifying villain in another

Tsukishima was not lucky. He was wearing down the attackers on purpose with his persistent soft blocks to put pressure on Shiratorizawas setter. Tsukishima knew Shiratorizawas setter would set a faster ball to Ushijima to avoid him getting blocked again. The faster ball was also slightly off because the setter was obviously nervous for trying it out. And Ushijima was also a little bit shocked at the set so he couldn't fully concentrate and fell right into Tsukis trap, which he was waiting for patiently. Tsuki acts like he is to late and then drops the hands on Ushijima wanting to capitalize on it. Tsuki put so much thought into stopping Ushijima and was so overwhelmed by his emotions that it had really finally worked, his clear logical downplaying head did not have the upper hand on him for once. Instead his emotions did. Or as coach Donny would say, he got bit by the bug.

Hey so comment on Tsukishima's "Great Job, King". While it was sort of a compliment, keep in mind the whole King nickname is actually kind of an insult(remember back in season 1, King of the court.) When you read it like that the "Great Job, King" becomes more of a snarky but begrudging compliment, rather than a genuine one which is much more in character.

Think it had positive connotations to it in this case though. He meant it like, as expected from a king rather than the initial negative way he used it.

NOOOOOO SEASON 4 ANIMATION IS STILL GOOD< THE MOVEMENTS ARE STILL GOOD> its just that the art style changed that throw off ppl. They were trying to get that manga artstyle so ppl who have been watching all prev 3 seasons think they are not good at all. I will say it again, the animation is still not up to this god tier level but still good enough to get those fluid movements. Its just the freaking artstyle (yes some 2-3 episodes in s4 part two looked way too off but hey its still as entertaining as the rest, just remember they have to produce this detailed series in such difficult times like covid) I just hope coach see this cmmt too instead of all the complaining cmmts about s4.
