The 1st and 2nd episodes was really very touching especially the second one as their mom sacrificed herself when voltes team was in great danger...salute to the creator of voltes V...
Now I realised , that my childhood movie was an intense action drama anime cartoon series, before I remember VOLTUS V just as my childhood favourite movie without realised the content of it. Love this movie before and still love it now. Thanks for uploading this movie.
Now, decades later, I truly realized that the purpose of the grit and intensity of this episode was for the 6 year old me to start really caring about the Gō kids and to start really hating the Boazans (but boy oh boy, was I in for a ride!) It did stir very strong emotions for me back then. Some did come back to me when I was watching just now but of course I’m a 41 year old tough man so no crying. LMAO And of course, the soundtrack is amazing. Stirring and moving. Not to mention, how that ending song is always soothing (even though it’s actually quite sad) like finding an oasis after an arduous journey through the desert. But think about it, all the grit and intensity of a tale of loss and bereavement, dark pain and heavy anguish, patriotic camaraderie and familial selflessness, social stratification and racial discrimination told through an animated series about a giant robot fighting giant monster robots from space for an audience of mostly school kids. Presented with a full-scale attack and the loss of someone important to the protagonists from the get-go (episode 2) no less! Some really deep and advanced sh*t. LOL That is what I’ve always liked about animes from the 80’s and the 90’s and what kept me wanting to see more: lifelike and realistic struggles with all the related nuances that came with them. Probably also why I couldn’t stand and didn’t watch a lot of US or European animated stuff back then because of the childish binary hero-villain good-bad portrayals. End rant. Take care, stay safe and healthy! Peace! Also, THANK YOU TOEI!
"Okasaaannnn...!" I never forget Kenichi's cry, even after 36 years (I'm now 44, watched it at 8). Those feeling! Sad, but in the other hand their must not neglect their mother's sacrifice and keep going!
This is one of those pivotal episodes that never fails to give me goosebumps every time I watch it. Damn I might've had probably cried too the first time I watched it back in Elementary School.
This must be the most awesome mom ever walked on this Earth. She walked off from operation table and kamikazed an F-14 into a giant robot to save her kids despite being mortally wounded. Seriously, you DON'T fuck with this lady. R.I.P. Badass mom. You will not be forgotten.
This episode is interesting in the sense that it's just the second episode and not just the villains find the heroes' base, they launch a full scale attack on it with their flying fortress. And then there's that stuff with the Go siblings' mother. That's crazy. I mean, it's the kind of stuff I'd expect from a finale!
IKR! Compared to its siblings Combattler V and Daimos, Voltes V is way darker and heavier both in atmosphere and content. Dialogue-wise, it is VERY patriotic, too. Kenichi's in particular. Among those three superobo, I'd say Voltes V has won by a mile.
@@SkyblueHippie Completely agreed. This Voltes V series has a very dark and heavier story lines. Full with continuous tragedies. Go's mother. professor Hamaguchi, Megumi's dad etc etc. And don't forget the ending also full of surprises.
@@SkyblueHippie Mmm. Still prefer Combattler and Daimos more. This show tended to go a bit overboard with the angst. And I enjoy the main cast of those two better.
Don't forget "Daltanious, the robot of the future", please. In the beginning Daltanious might look somehow less dramatic than the other series. But, as the story goes on (above all from episode 25 onwards), it turns out to be the darkest of the four Nagahama robotic romance shows. I know Daltanious is not that famous outside Italy and Japan, but, if you like Voltes V, you should give it a try. But remember: the truth starts to be revealed from ep. 25 (out of 47) onwards. And the real, sad, darkest truth will be found out in the last episode only.
Congratulations from Brazil, Toei! :) Thank you. @ @. Série divertida que cativou os brasileiros na época. Ótima trilha sonora!PLEASE, TOEI: MAKE THE ''SPACE SQUAD ''THIRD PART WITH ''Winspector\Solbrain\Exedraft'' return! ;)
may be combattler V is the first robot mecha, we dont know in indonesia. But, this anime is the best of the best not just fight against devil also show how relation of brotherhood, siblings, even with friend. Thanks for the video. I always like this story. Borutesu V
Voltus zaman gua sd nonton nya sewa kaset video. Film ini top banget sekitar thn 83 . Mantap skrg gua sdh tua nonton lagi... nostalgia bro.... waktu bgitu cepat bro. Selama kita masih sehat di dunia jgn pernah bosan berbuat kebaikan.. 🙏👍
Caramba!
this is the ep where I realized this show was gonna be especially good, and not just through how cool it is. a better serious dramatic 70s super robot show than zambot 3 and I love zambot 3
Walau kartun, ikut sedih melihat ibunda Kenichi, Dai jiro dan Hiyoshi harus berkorban demi anak2nya! film masalalu gw yg tak terlupakan, walaupun dah lebih kepala 4!
