The episode ‘The Journey’ reminded me *-A-* *-LOT-* of Samurai Jack in the beginning of Season 5. Just the fact he had his long beautiful ass hair and just everything that happened to them just made me want to slap the computer I swear they watched S5 of SJ and they thought ‘HOLY SHIT A PLOT!’ I seriously feel bad for the both of them.
i agree with a lot of what you said, when i first watched it i was like "this doesn't have that voltron feel to it??" and a lot of it felt rushed n stuff but by the second time i watched it, i was ok with it and hearing the shiro clone theories made it a lot more enjoyable. cos shiro is my favorite character and he acted way different and it made me dislike his character a bit. but, hearing that theory made the season a bit more enjoyable and stuff.
I don't think it was really jarring they weren't talking about Shiro. I think most of them wanted to avoid talking about him because it was sad and most of them knew they had to move forward.
I think you nailed a lot of the feelings that many people have been having about season 3. "It was both underwhelming and overwhelming at the same time." ABSOLUTELY YES I think that the weird pacing might be intentional, in that, right now in the show, everything is upended. All these things are happening and the struggle never ends. Because it's war. And now they FEEL it. The pacing could be a way for the writers to get across that feeling of upheaval to the audience, just like when we see Shiro again, we can tell that there's something.... off... about him. Not just in his physical appearance, but the way he acts, on his own and with others. Even in the way he speaks; it's subtle but Josh Keaton does something with his voice that's juuuuuust there so that it sounds like Shiro but just a little... different... off, even uncomfortable, in some way the audience can't quite put their fingers on. But yeah, the pacing definitely felt strange. I'm anxious to know how the second half/season 4 goes, because I think it'll definitely feel more complete once the whole season is put together. I have no doubts that Lotor and Zarkon will butt heads. In DotU, Zarkon often would refer to Lotor as his "beloved son" and insult him (calling him an idiot, constantly putting down his ideas) in the same episode. Lotor tries to poison his father at least once and is always defying him (he's really quite the brat in DotU). VLD Lotor was banished for some reason, so I don't think his reunion with his father will be particularly happy. Though, if Haggar is able to regain her "Honerva" memories, I expect Zarkon would be able to start to break the hold that the quintessence/dark creatures have on him (I do think it's something like a possession thing). Love the review :) (PS: whichever one of you mentioned feeling weird about Zarkon and Honerva, DON'T because I totally agree they are just as pure as you think they are :D )
I cant evoid thinking/comparing them with the power rangers; and the end of the season 3 reminded me kind of the power ranger way... I mean, the red ranger as the leader, tue blue as second and the black ranger as some sorth of guide/old ranger(The guy with experience giding the others) (kind of like Tommy that in one generation he was the red ranger and then in Dino Thunder he was the black ranger/wise dude) Idk (my Power Ranger heart is a big influence) 😅 Allura as the Pink Ranger yeeei Badassgirlpower
Metasisters, any chance that instead of Shiro being a clone, that Zarkon and Shiro switched?? Both of them disappeared at their clash at the end of season two and both get brought back in season 3. I believe the the new Shiro is Zarkon with no memory, and Zarkon is gonna awake to be Shiro with no memory...
