Video Intro to the voluntary act doctrine in criminal law, along with a brief discussion of a famous illustrative case. I also discuss the corollary constitutional doctrine that prevents the government -- state or federal -- from punishing a status rather than an act, and consider that doctrine in the context of homelessness.
