Awesome video!! I have never seen walnut dash trim in an 80s 740 also that cluster is a bit different than what I’m used to. I owned an ‘88 744 turbo and now a ‘90 745 turbo. Great cars!
Beautiful car! My daily is a 940 D24TIC estate, has been a rolling resto for the last couple of years but more or less finished now. Such a great car. I have a petrol one too but the diesel gets the love. Just about to hit 300k miles and still so sweet!
Damn I'm not the only one! I can see you fuel gauge swinging up and down. My 740GL swing left and right when the fuel tank is full, but it stops swinging when I reach 100 Kilo Metres journey.
i never really understood why people prefer diesels over the petrol options, especially as volvo was famous for the redblocks. still appreciate the good restauration tho.
@@rioblyth3926 This engine has done more than 500000km, so I would say so. You just have to be more mindful when it comes to timing belt changes, as it is an interference engine.
The temperature sensor at the back of the head isn't working, so it always thinks it's -30 outside and glows 30 seconds. But I always just start the car earlier, which shuts off the glowplugs.
I haven't tried it, but the reason they changed it is because 5th gear is too weak to handle the torque. So if you are planning on towing or driving long distances I would't risk it. If youre doing a swap its not much more work to put an M46 in
