I remember those. In Glasgow, they were in service right up to 2005, eight years after First Group bought out Strathclyde Buses and Kelvin Central Group. So some of them were more than twenty years old at the time. A few of them survive in the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.

Andrew Mcgonigle it will probably end it's life where it is now. Loads of things have been taken off it so it will never run again and the chassis is rotten through in places.
I have a share in Tayside 276 which is the only surviving MK2 Ailsa with a Voith gearbox. We're well on with the restoration, and the bus should be on the road later this year. We're looking for the front grille chrome trim if you still have it or if the buyer would be interested in selling it.
