This is a 4.3 core engine that I wanted to just hone but the bores have too many ridges to make it work. So it needs boring and homing. Back to the machine shop it goes.
Finally.... someone who made the right decision to fix a cylinder the correct way. Bore and hone. Every other backyard engine builder on the 'tube throws a quick sloppy hone down the bore and calls it good. "Awww don't wast your money on a professional bore and hone. The machine shop is just trying to rip you off ". Uh huh. If the rings don't seal, nothing works right. Good job on fixing it right !!
Or more than likely, I will be out of business for not charging enough for what I do. Many of my customers bring me boats that need restoring instead of just rebuilding
