I just got my Volvo back from the shop for alignment after replacing the steering rack with the help of your video, now i have to change some sensors in the steering wheel aswell, and here you are. Thank you very much sir
A couple suggestions. Before you take the steering wheel off, mark both the wheel and the column so you know exactly which splines line up. Also before you take off your wheel, lock it in the straight position so it does not have a chance of moving on you.
Thank you for detail explaining all steps. I did the same but the after I replaced mine as “SRS-airbag service urgent” pops up”. Maybe you know how to fix it. The airbag physically I installed back. It’s there as used to be

For sure. I think the four spoke wheel requires a different removal though. I think it’s a couple of T30 torx that you need to unscrew. Be sure not to strip!
I have a question, You have a volvo s60 before facelifting with the chrono gauges. How You do that? Old gauges and chrono gauges have different connectors.
You are correct in that if you have an 01/02, you must replace DIM/gauges with an 01/02, same for 03/04, and for 05+. DIM/gauges cannot be interchanged between these three time periods. The DIM I have on mine is from an executive S80 2004. They have the black anodized bezels. Connector is same. You can also exchange for an R style gauge with blue background but it also must be from 03/04. To get the LEAd lights in it working you have to do a small amount of soldering on the board. No big deal. Good instructions are provided on Swedespeed.

I'm trying to upgrade my 4 spoke v70 steering wheel to a 3 spoke r steering wheel. where can I get the center piece necessary if I already have the replacement wheel? will I need to replace the airbag?
The airbag IS the center piece. Your best bets are eBay or your local wreckyard. Some places do not permit the resale of airbags. No such restrictions where I am.
the car i have is v70 t5 2001 year i want to change the 4 spoke wheel with the modern looking 3 spoke but will it be a problem if i buy a steering wheel from a car with a telephone function because there are 2 additional buttons to answer and hang the phone and my car doesnt have telephone? Does the connectors from the old volvo will be the same with the ones from the new?
I think the wheel will be fine but if the replacement is 2005+ you may need to switch the connectors from your old wheel OR you may be stuck getting replacement connectors from an 2001-2004.
You must unplug battery before unplugging wheel. This will ensure you don’t get error codes. If you change command buttons you must match them 01-02, 03-04?and 05+. If you don’t cruise, etc won’t work.
